🇺🇦🇷🇺 Step onto Ukraine's front and a drone is already hunting you
There's now a 30-km-deep strip running the whole 1,200-km front where drones watch everything, and the second you move in it, one finds you and hits you within seconds.
That's why big group attacks are finished. Troops fight in twos and threes from underground foxholes, flying cheap FPV and fiber-optic drones onto the enemy, while tanks and trenches have become death traps that get spotted from the air.
So the Russians creep in on foot and motorbikes instead, anything to stay off the cameras.
Ukraine's answer was thousands of kilometers of anti-drone netting over the roads, but Russia's fiber-optic drones fly right through. They're wired instead of radio-controlled, so jamming does nothing.
And the cost is brutal. Roughly 2 million soldiers killed, wounded, or missing since 2022, about 1.4 million of them Russian, with drones now doing most of the damage.
