My thing is this: there is so much more discourse about rap than ever before, but almost NO discourse about the art itself. It’s crazy.
Everything is about fanbases, industry politics, numbers/popularity, etc
People are having “strong opinions” about things they lowkey have no idea about lol whole podcasts full of people who couldn’t identify a metaphor or a compound syllable rhyme scheme tryna tell you what to like. I hate it

ALT STATEMENT FROM GIANTS' BROADCASTER DUANE KUIPER: "I was recently diagnosed with throat cancer and began treatment last week with my doctors at Stanford Medicine. This cancer is unrelated to the one I experienced five years ago, and I'm optimistic that it will be successfully treated. I'll miss the broadcasts tomorrow and Wednesday as I continue treatment, but I'm looking forward to returning Tuesday and this weekend to celebrate my partner, Mike Krukow, and his remarkable career as he calls his final game before retirement. I'm incredibly grateful for the care I'm receiving and for the tremendous support from my family, the Giants organization, my broadcast partners and so many others."

I been thinking about this so much in SF. In almost every bar or restaurant I’ve gone to during baseball season, I’ve had to ask them to put on the Giants game. And once they do I’m the only person paying attention
Brooklyn is so transplant trashed, that every bar is showing just the US Open and not a single screen with the Yankees and Mets. No Subway Series anywhere is INSANE. Get me out of here.
