According to the NYT, after Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman asked Trump for help fighting the Iran backed Houthis, Trump told the Pentagon to prepare for airstrikes. But by Sunday, Trump appeared to reverse course again. The U.S. would not carry out strikes against the Houthis, at least for now, according to administration officials. The White House declined to comment on Trump’s deliberations. A senior official said only that “the U.S. has a defense agreement with Saudi Arabia and we will always defend our allies.”

JUST IN: The Trump administration is preparing sweeping sanctions against the International Criminal Court, the WSJ reports. The sanctions would block most transactions with the ICC, including transactions in U.S. dollars, potentially cutting the court off from much of the global financial system. This would come on top of the sanctions the Trump administration has already imposed on ICC judges, prosecutors and other officials.
