In British police archives from the 1990s, there is a tape that still sends shivers down the spines of those who have seen it.
They call it "The Bjorn Tape." It is neither an internet legend nor a fabricated horror story. It is a real video, recorded in the late 1980s or early 1990s, in which a boy—nicknamed "Bjorn" by the British police because his true identity was never established—is subjected to extreme sexual abuse and systematic torture.
Scotland Yard obtained a copy. They analyzed it and showed stills from it in the 1997 documentary *The Boy Business*.
Even so, neither the victim nor the men who filmed him have been publicly identified to this day. The tape circulated for years among pedophile networks across Europe. It was just one product within an underground market that operated with cold, corporate efficiency.
The setting for this story is Amsterdam in the late 1980s and early 1990s. A group of British men settled there and turned the city into a hub for organized child exploitation. They rented premises and set up brothels to traffic minors—most of whom had been kidnapped—clandestinely. At first, they brought homeless minors from the streets of London. Later, following the collapse of the Soviet bloc, they began importing children from Eastern Europe, many of them barely ten or eleven years old.

One of the names that appears repeatedly in the investigations is that of Warwick Spinks, a British pedophile based in Amsterdam. He was 25 years old when he earned enough money to buy the Gay Palace in Amsterdam. From 1990 onwards, he produced and sold snuff films. His associates Norbert De Rijck and De Souza ran the Temse-Madeira network (Belgium-Netherlands-Portugal), which organized trips involving the filming of child abuse on the island of Madeira. Warwick financed the trips of Robert Van Der Naeten—who trafficked children from Madeira to Dutch brothels—but unlike the other three, he was not convicted.

The evidence had existed since 1992. The network was already linked. The organization Werkgroep Morkhoven and its leader, Marcel Vervloesem, had already documented an active network spanning Belgium, the Netherlands, and Madeira. In January 1992, Werkgroep Morkhoven handed over photos and videos to the Belgian Minister of Justice. The material was subsequently forwarded to the Ghent public prosecutor. That same year, raids were conducted, and a video titled "Portugal-Madeira" was seized. An Interpol fax had already identified several individuals involved. Belgian judicial authorities had been aware of this network since at least 1992 yet took no action; instead, they covered it up and silenced the matter.

Most importantly, all of this took place prior to the discovery of the Zandvoort CD-ROMs. The very same organization that exposed the Temse-Madeira network was the one that, in July 1998, handed over the key evidence regarding the Zandvoort case to the authorities and television broadcasters. Temse served as a base, Madeira as a production site, and the Netherlands as a distribution hub. The network was already crossing borders long before the Zandvoort CD-ROMs made headlines.

The Morkhoven Working Group demonstrated that child exploitation networks in 1990s Europe were not isolated incidents. They had been interconnected for years. What was uncovered in Zandvoort was not the origin, but rather the continuation of a web that was already operating across Belgium, the Netherlands, and Portugal.

En abril de 1989, el comportamiento de Beth había llegado a tal punto que fue separada temporalmente de su familia adoptiva para recibir tratamiento intensivo.
