So, there you are, a poorly argued plea but a heartfelt howl of pure anguish and despair from one who knows and is still suffering the consequences of suicide 25 years after the act:
Please, do *not* allow this horrendous piece of shockingly badly devised, appallingly written, wholly unconscionable legislation to become law.
Please, listen to us who recognise what suicide is, how catastrophic it is, how hopelessly irrational and illogical suicidal thinking is, how fleeting and temporary suicidal feelings are, and how eminently and effectively treatable suicidal ideation and feelings are at all times of life and in all circumstances.
Please, realise that all suicide is preventable.
Please realise that physical ill health can cause depression and that depression is always treatable, even if the physical ailment may not be.
Instead, please, go back to
@UKLabour govt and mandate them to triple funding for palliative and hospice care, and quadruple funding for psychiatric care.
And import from abroad as many skilled carers and clinicians and their families as
@GOVUK can lay its hands on. We desperately need such wonderful people to enrich our lives, pay lots of tax, and care for us.
Please, show your morality, your compassion and your support for the dying to live with love, dignity and hope for all the days that their bodies will let them.
