Good to meet again with Foreign Minister @AymanHsafadi in Split 🇭🇷, alongside His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, who is leading the Jordanian delegation at the #MED9 Summit. Jordan is a key strategic partner for the EU and an anchor of stability in a challenging regional context. We stand firmly with Jordan in protecting its security and sovereignty. Preparations for the 🇯🇴🇪🇺 Investment Conference are well underway. We are committed to supporting Jordan’s reform and investment agenda and turning our Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership into concrete opportunities for investment, growth and jobs. We also exchanged on regional developments and the importance of working closely together to advance stability, security and peace in the region.

Europe cannot be strong if the Mediterranean is left vulnerable. That is why today’s MED9 Summit in Split matters. We are bringing together our strengths - on energy, security, connectivity and partnerships - to make the Mediterranean a space of stability, opportunity and shared prosperity. Our continued work, including the implementation of the Pact for the Mediterranean, turns this ambition into a common project - that delivers on the ground. #MED9 🇪🇺🌊

The Mediterranean is central to the European Union’s security, resilience and prosperity. Developments in the Middle East directly affect the EU’s security and economic interests, particularly in the Mediterranean. Today we focused on the regional dimensions of energy, migration, connectivity, climate and the budget. The EU is committed to contributing to a safer, more sustainable and more resilient Mediterranean for the benefit of Europe as a whole. 🇯🇴🤝🇪🇺 Stronger EU–Jordan Ties – Capacity Building Programme Beyond content sessions and policy discussions, this training also provides moments to exchange and connect beyond the classroom, including when discovering Bruges.

The EU is ready to deploy an Election Observation Mission for the Palestinian legislative polls planned for November. This was among the issues I discussed in my call with Palestinian Vice-President @HusseinSheikhpl. Palestinians have the right to choose their representatives in elections that are credible, inclusive and transparent. After nearly 20 years without a parliamentary vote, these elections would offer a long-overdue opportunity to renew the legitimacy of Palestinian institutions.
