What a panel discussion we had yesterday at Bitcoin Montréal @btc_montreal, “the longest-running Bitcoin meetup in the world” (founded in 2013.)🧡 Alongside Toufic Adlouni @tadlouni, lawyer and co-founder & CEO of Renno & Co., and @RealNicoLagan , political commentator, host, and founder of @ThePoliOrphans , we discussed four bills (C-8, C9, C-22 and C-34) — two of which are already law — that have implications for freedom of expression and speech, as well as basic rights to privacy. The room was packed, and it was definitely a heated discussion. 🔥 It wasn’t all doom and gloom. We also talked about solutions, individual responsibility, and the role of faith in navigating a world that can feel increasingly dystopian, especially as emerging technologies advance and governments increasingly start acting like helicopter parents. 😅 A big thank you to the organizers of Bitcoin Montréal for having me moderate this panel, to Toufic and Nico for sharing their knowledge, perspectives, and experiences, and to everyone who showed up — whether to participate in the discussion, listen, ask questions, or simply show support. 🧡 These conversations matter.
