outside/on his way, only for it to finally dawn on us that you were not showing up. It's unbelievable that a professional, accomplished performer like AY would scam hardworking people like this, and in 2026! I will be requesting for a refund of my ticket money at the very least.

Thank you for amplifying the atrocious behaviour of the #EFCC at #UUTH yesterday. My heart broke 💔 reading the news, especially as I know Prof. Eyo Ekpe, a kind, humble, fervent teacher, senior colleague and role model. Something must give! Doctors & health workers lives matter!
What happened at the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital yesterday is a national disgrace and must not be treated lightly! Calling on @officialEFCC to promote lawful conduct; to publicly call the officers involved in the act to order, @Fmohnigeria @nighealthwatch to protect our healthcare system, and the presidency @NGRPresident and @NGRSenate to look into this, so this doesn’t happen to any healthcare worker again. @UN @WHO @WHONigeria @UNICEF_Nigeria Justice must prevail. Say NO TO VIOLENCE AGAINST MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS. Enough is Enough.

The Jacksons (all 6 brothers) reunited for this iconic moment in time! What an amazing time was had, and check out their proud Mama smiling at her sons! Now they are 4 left. RIP, #MichaelJackson #TitoJackson Thank you for the music 🎶 🎵 🙋🏽‍♀️💓
That time when the Jackson 5 reunited to perform "Can You Feel It" on stage. Just look at how proud Katherine Jackson was, watching her sons performing together again. Michael Jackson was so awesome.

This! Made me remember my WHY when I picked medicine and surgery as the course to study at University, to the amazement of my parents who were both teachers of languages (English and French). Till date, and despite all the hubris that we meet from our patients, I love being a Dr!
In medical school, we are taught a golden rule: "When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras." It is a reminder to look for the common explanation before the exotic one. But after decades in cardiology, I’ve learned that if a patient is still suffering after the "horses" have been ruled out, a doctor must have the courage—and the curiosity—to go hunting for the zebra. Sarah was a thirty-four-year-old marathon runner and a devoted mother who came to me after six months of being told she was "fine." She had been bounced from one specialist to another, each one pointing to her normal EKG and standard blood tests as proof that her crushing fatigue and racing heart were simply the result of "new mom stress." By the time she reached my office, she didn't just look tired; she looked invisible, as if the medical system had stopped seeing the woman and only saw the data. Instead of re-reading the normal test results that had already failed her, I asked Sarah to walk me through her life. We talked about her training and her family, eventually landing on a backpacking trip she took to the Mendoza province of rural Argentina. She described staying in a charming, rustic cottage made of sun-dried mud bricks. She mentioned waking up one morning with a strangely swollen, purple eyelid that she assumed was a simple spider bite. As she spoke, a memory surfaced from a biography I had read years ago about Charles Darwin. Most people know Darwin for his theories on evolution, but medical historians have long puzzled over the mysterious, debilitating illness that plagued him for decades after he returned from his voyage on the HMS Beagle. Darwin had written in his journals about being bitten by the "great black bug of the Pampas" while sleeping in mud-walled huts in South America. He spent the rest of his life suffering from heart palpitations and exhaustion that the Victorian doctors of his time could never explain. I realized then that Sarah wasn't suffering from stress; she was likely hosting the same "silent killer" that may have haunted Darwin: Chagas Disease. The "Kissing Bug" lives in the cracks of those mud-brick walls. It bites its victims—often near the eyes or mouth—while they sleep, passing a parasite called Trypanosoma cruzi into the blood. The danger of Chagas is that the initial symptoms disappear quickly, but the parasite can hide in the body for years, slowly weaving itself into the muscle and electrical "wiring" of the heart. To confirm this, I moved beyond the standard tests. I ordered a specialized "Strain Rate" ultrasound, which doesn't just look at whether the heart is pumping, but at how the individual muscle fibers are stretching. We saw that while her heart looked strong to the naked eye, the fibers were "stuttering," a sign of early parasite-induced scarring. A specific blood test for the parasite's antibodies confirmed the diagnosis. Treatment required a difficult, sixty-day course of anti-parasitic medication to stop the infection, paired with a protective heart regimen to keep her electrical system stable while the inflammation settled. Because we caught it before her heart was physically damaged or enlarged, the recovery was a success. Months later, Sarah returned to my office, her vibrant energy restored. She brought me a leather-bound copy of The Voyage of the Beagle with a note tucked inside. She wrote that while other doctors had looked at her charts, I had looked at her. This case remains a vital reminder for my memoir: in a world of high-tech scans and AI, the most sophisticated diagnostic tool we possess is still the human story. When we truly listen, we don't just find the disease—we find the patient. Good morning.

This is an apt response to that questionable 'red letter'! I hope many people will respond to your call to action for this #KnowYourPHC post. Thanks for all you do @aproko_doctor. I hope the @Fmohnigeria and the Coordinating Min. of Health are taking note!
When a child has a fever or a neighbour collapses, this Primary Healthcare Centre in Enugu is the only place this community can run to. But the PHC looks quiet, like an old building left behind. See, this is not just about wanting better. It's time for us to get involved, because healthcare is everybody's responsibility. It’s time to #KnowYourPHC.

Why do our government officials specialise in chasing shadows while leaving the substance of the work they need to do to fix our country???

When do we finally say enough, is enough? How many more young Nigerian doctors have to die before urgent reforms are made???
A sad day again😔. Another Nigerian Dr Dead after 72hrs Call, despite complaints of being sick which was ignored and still made to work. 💔 How many more death to prove that @MDCNOfficial needs to Regulate Dr’s working hours??😭 Today, we mourn the death of a promising young doctor, Dr Femi. Loved by family and friends, failed by his home country Nigeria 💔. He was also said to have passed his PLAB exams and awaiting a job opportunity in the UK, until this sad event. This is the sad situation of many Nigerian doctors, most of whom are alive but dying silently from overwork. We call on @muhammadpate , @FatimaKyari to please put an end to these deaths. It’s time to #regulatedrsworkinghours #abolish32hrsworkeverycallday . We are begging the Nigerian government @officialABAT @NGRSenate to please come to doctors Aid🙏🏻. Lets please regulate Drs working hours now 🙏🏻 @aproko_doctor @Nigerian_Doctor @nard_nigeria @nationalnma @Fmohnigeria @the_beardedsina @Jebzmanchini @balaaudu53 @vdmempire @channelstv @seunokin @tvcnewsng @MobilePunch @vanguardngrnews @NewsCentralTV

While Nigerians are urged to endure economic hardship "like labor pains," some governors are splurging billions on new government houses, @TheAfricaReport reveals » bit.ly/3H5jxh9 @BudgITng warns that "instead of funding schools, clinics, or agriculture, leaders prioritize buildings they barely use." @cislacnigeria adds: "There is more money, little accountability, and no priority." Such alleged lack of fiscal responsibility fuels inequality and erodes public trust. #TransparencyTuesday

A very troubling state of affairs 😭
Something is really wrong. And we just don’t know it yet. How can we attend the olympics as a country and not win any medal at all? How is this okay and acceptable? The world’s most populous black nation on earth yet we are unable to win 1 medal out of 329 medal events. What kind of disappointing nonsense is this? Nobody will get sacked. Nobody will get queried for this. Nobody will be summoned to explain. Nobody will be made to resign from this shame. We will all just move on like everything is fine. The acceptance of mediocrity and the culture of being a global disgrace is terribly worrying. The population of St Lucia is less than 200,000. One local government in Kano or Lagos has far more people than St Lucia. Yet St Lucia has just produced the Olympic female gold medalist in 100m and silver gold medalist in 200m women. What is really going on in Nigeria? How can a country of less than 200,000 people win two medals so easily but a country of 200million people go to a competition where 329 medal events are happening, and we cannot win even 1 medal? We are not investing in sports. We are not investing in healthcare. We are not investing in education. We are not investing in technology. We are not investing in anything. So what are we doing exactly? These locusts in Abuja just sit down to steal, destroy and wreck the nation’s commonwealth on a daily basis. Anyway since nobody will say it, Maybe because everybody has already given up, I will say it quite clearly: Shame on the sports ministry of Nigeria, Shame on the athletic federation of Nigeria, Shame on every one who failed to do their job and Shame on every single person whose incompetence and irresponsibility has brought this level of avoidable embarrassment to all of us on such a global stage.

URGENT MESSAGE FOR PRESIDENT TINUBU Your Excellency, I have decided to write this open letter to you as a concerned friend and Brother. As you’re aware, I’m a member of opposition but you and I have had a long history together. I owe you only one thing, TRUTH. It is very obvious that the first thing that takes flight in the Presidential villa is TRUTH. The reason is simple. Some Nigerians are experts in hijacking men and women of power. The deification process is often swift and irreversible. I’m writing you today, not because I expect you to act on my suggestions, but to put it on record that someone gave you the true picture of things. I’m also hoping that some of your friends will read and interpret to you, in a sober moment… 1. Nigeria is in big trouble. Our economy has virtually collapsed. And what’s the way out? You’ve been wasting too much money at a time that requires absolute frugality. Please, stop this reckless propensity for wasting scarce resources. Purchasing Presidential jets, building outlandish monuments, distributing cash as palliatives, etc, are signs of a failed and careless government. If you can curb the excessive spending of your government, you will free up a lot of resources for serious development. 2. I believe you’re frittering away our resources because you desperately crave a second term. But the best assurance of a second term is PERFORMANCE. Nigerians are not expecting you to turn water into wine but they don’t want you to turn their wines into water. Here are my tips: invest in vocational skills for our highly talented youths who can demonstrate their capacity for hard work. Invest heavily in local agriculture. Upgrade our institutions of learning. Giving cash to politicians to distribute is unhealthy and unhelpful… It is the height of cluelessness. 3. In the name of God, beware of those hero-worshippers at the National Assembly who have turned you into God. NDUME is your best friend. Listen to him. There’s danger ahead. 4. You must enforce DISCIPLINE as a leader. Your new disciple, NYESOM WIKE, has publicly disrespected you in the FUBARA matter. You need to sanction him before he throws Nigeria into total chaos.
