That distinction is meant to signal that the collection wasn’t built by simply prompting an image model and generating thousands of variations. The Genesis collection has 8,888 full-body characters with 200+ pop-culture-inspired traits designed to change the overall character, rather than just adding a hat, glasses or another accessory to the same base. So when they say “hand-crafted,” the idea is that the artwork and trait combinations are intentionally designed and assembled as a collection, with each character having its own visual identity. For an NFT collection, that matters because the art is doing more than filling the PFP slot. It’s the foundation for the wider ecosystem of avatars, banners, wallpapers, 3D models, printables and other holder utilities. The interesting question is whether that handcrafted approach remains noticeable when you look across all 8,888 pieces.
