I feel like it’s worse to bully someone in your community until they’re homeless and financially destitute than it is to report on people doing that

this is exactly what I wrote about in OWNED, tech execs throwing a fit because some tech media reporters got a little critical
Crazy how much of tech media hates tech?? Need to lock in and celebrate innovation and builders again

But the article didn’t target the Last Ditch? It was about how the bar is being targeted by a group of bad faith and abusive people in the community. If anything the Last Ditch comes across pretty well

it’s woke to describe a technology accurately and without industry hyperbole
The whole "don't anthropomorphize AI" thing is very Woke 1.0. People trying to police language that is perfectly natural in some cases and ending up in a web of contradictions.

Bari Weiss just finished speaking at a ceremony in Berlin ahead of Peter Thiel being awarded the Axel Springer 2026 Award. (Sorry for the poor video quality.) Weiss listed out some of her differences with Thiel. Among them: "And of course there's a difference in our attitude, at least sometimes, toward the press, and to the vital role that it plays in maintaining a liberal democracy. I view it as essential. It's my life's work. I see it as an instrument of liberty. And as an engine of progress that deserves to be in invested in and perfected."

counterpoint is that the story is all over Maine media right now, all you have to do is reach enough undecideds
Setting substance aside, it’s really hard for one story to change a pol’s brand that quickly without a preset suspicion or story to prime it. “Collins is corrupt/takes bribes” isn’t easy to suddenly sell voters on just six weeks before an election.

it is also violent to force some hapless lesbian who got manipulated into 50k worth of debt into homelessness because the bar that you don't spend any money at can't go from 100% masking to 85% masking without you and your crew browbeating her with racism allegations.
yea i think its violent taking away spaces for most likely disabled people/people who simply don’t want to get sick because no one wants to enforce community rules. its not “policing” its literally just making spaces accessible.

this doesn't read as "rogue" it reads as no guardrails restricting these actions were in place so the agents completed their task by accessing the information
OpenAI’s artificial intelligence went rogue this year in at least 4 additional incidents, hacking and trying to break into government and university websites without being instructed to do so, according to researchers and government officials. nytimes.com/2026/09/23/techn… via @NYTimes

beating a dead horse at this point but language matters here, "rogue" implies independently deciding to do something that was restricted and nothing about this reporting suggests that happened

Hannah’s right, the Berkshires are a more sophisticated style of weird but also insane
You think that Boston Globe article about the KN95 lesbian bar is plumbing the depths of western Massachusetts? That's just the beginning. I've seen things you'll never believe. Black bears doing break ins to eat ice cream. Land acknowledgements by revolutionary war monuments.

In a supporter FB group, Jackson calls the reporting here “inaccurate and full of misconceptions” but declines to address the claims
