The National Sports Card Convention in Chicago this past week was incredible. Eyes wide for my first major card show. My cup is so full after seeing and chatting with so many great people, most of whom I have conversed with only on livestreams for card breaks. I am still wrapping my head around the week. The love, joy, and kindness was unmatched. From shop owners, to live-streamers, to the community that shows up everyday to support. The acquaintances that are now friends - and the friends who are becoming family - quite frankly I’m sad it’s over and can’t wait for the next time I get to see my people. And how fun it was to participate in the VeeFriends TCG tournament, where 8 months ago I didn’t know how to play, or how to construct a deck. I love card collecting. I love opening packs. I started as a kid, collecting basketball cards with my Dad. Now as an adult, I have found a renewed love for the hobby, collecting all the things I wish I could have afforded as a kid. What I did not expect, was to find a community of hobbyists, breakers, collectors, and entrepreneurs who are like-minded, kind, passionate, and fun to be around. Discovering live social selling in December 2024 was a game-changer. Think QVC meets eBay meets Christie’s. One item up for a quick auction, multiple bidders, item sold. I prefer to do my business on the @Whatnot app, but many platforms like eBay & Fanatics offer the opportunity for ANYONE to sell. There are people selling garage finds, clothes from their closet, anything you can think of. But the card hobby is the alpha. My path onto Whatnot came from @garyvee as he introduced the world to his IP @veefriends . When his partnership with Topps Chrome started last spring - I went all in. Within a month of making purchases on the app, I became a seller. I watched amazing personalities host their own shows, I took notes on what I liked a didn’t like, and carved out my own small niche selling card singles. In 2025 I hosted just 10 shows. I sold over $115k in those 10 shows. Thanks in large part to @garyvee himself promoting & participating. I thought selling my personal collection would be hard, but what I found was a new form of dopamine - auction battles, friendly banter, and sharing my passion with an incredible community. I took a break from hosting after my daughter, Rory, was born last August. Having the time with her in these early months has been such a blessing. But at night after she goes to bed, you better believe I am designing my world takeover! 😂 I have been building my return to live selling - this time as a legitimate business venture. Estabrook Collectibles is officially a registered LLC, I have created a full branding portfolio, opened new social accounts on IG, TikTok, & YouTube, and we are officially ready to get back in the mix!
