I wonder if there are any Football Administrators closer to home who may be similarly compromised 🤔
Back in 2014, there was a man who was already aware of the irregularities involving Manchester City. That man now runs FIFA. The infamous Gianni Infantino, then UEFA General Secretary, abused his authority, shared confidential documents and, in short, outmanoeuvred the Investigatory Chamber, doing everything in his power to ensure that both Manchester City and PSG would merely receive a fine, avoiding a deeper investigation that could have led to a Champions League ban. All of these details were also revealed through Football Leaks. Given his actions as UEFA General Secretary and, more recently, as FIFA President, I can only say, in my humble opinion, that Gianni Infantino has become a cancer on football and should have no place in the future of the game.

The danger. Per my second to last tweet on Premier League clubs ( Manchester United already named elsewhere), wargaming action against the Premier League and guilty clubs... An old gnarly hack could be forgiven for thinking this could then give perfect cover for several traditionally very very big clubs to say.. Premier League aren't fit for purpose, haven't acted, haven't compensated us, did shit about punishing City, so... Let's get the Super League band together again. Watch this space.

Everything you need to know about the concerns of loyal, traditional fans and then there’s Sean Dyche
“It’s despicable!” 😡 Ellie and Adam tell Sean Dyche exactly what they think of how United’s owners are reportedly treating some season ticket holders.

The overwhelming majority of fans believe that “stadium, match-day traditions and fan engagement” are more important to their club’s heritage than on-field success, according to an Ipsos poll commissioned by the Independent Football Regulator. 32% of fans surveyed said they would experience “a high level of distress” should their club be dissolved or cease to exist. (Surprised it’s not more tbh). 56% would consider taking “some action” if their club faced the threat of being dissolved. 87% said “the location of their stadium is important to them as part of their club’s heritage - higher than on-field success (83%)”. 82% said their club’s main home shirt colours were important to them personally, with 78% “valuing” their club crest. In the nuanced trophies-v-tradition debate about what defines a club’s heritage, the 1,904 English and Welsh fans polled put club history (91%), engagement with fans (87%) and team name (86%) as “more important” to club heritage than on-field success. The IFR was established in the wake of threats to the national game by certain owners, the prospect of breakaway leagues, concerns over sustainability of some clubs and attacks on club heritage (changes to crests etc) without fan consultation. The survey, to be included in the IFR’s forthcoming State of the Game report, is followed by a social media campaign “What Happens When Saturday Doesn’t Come?” around protecting club heritage, improving fan engagement and clubs’ financial sustainability also “for the benefit of local communities”. The campaign features local businesses closely linked to clubs including Leeds United, Liverpool, Leyton Orient, Coventry City and Sheffield Wednesday. youtu.be/pnaboP2eFVo?si=6wRs…

At the very least, Everton owe their frustrated fans some form of explanation for that chaotic, embarrassing and deeply disappointing transfer window. Yes, Jack’s back and Maitland-Niles is in (and earlier Hackney+). But The Friedkin Group, the club’s CEO Angus Kinnear and the recruitment committee owe it to fans - the lifeblood of the club - to justify/clarify/apologise for a situation which saw Balogun not sign, a star like Ndiaye leave, Beto go, Armstrong almost sold, and failed late attempts for Kirkzee, Abraham and Tete (nb also reluctance from their clubs). Were they hoping for the Armstrong money to get players in? Or was it simply poor organisation, leaving things late? Everton look incredibly short of quality and numbers in attack and at full-back. So much to admire about Everton - manager, fanbase, stadium, academy, players like Pickford, Branthwaite, Garner, Dewsbury-Hall, Armstrong etc. But that was a poorly-handled transfer window and Everton fans have every right to be frustrated. #EFC

The PL is not “too big to fail” despite record-breaking £7+ billion revenue, combined pre-tax losses were £948 million. Even with TV and comm money pouring in, many clubs are living month to-month. Meanwhile the PL/6 continue to circle the wagons to protect themselves.
Traditions are under threat in the Premier League. bloomberg.com/news/features/…
