Today marks one month since the body of a woman was discovered in Stanley Park. As enquiries continue, Detective Superintendent Rachel Wilson is making a renewed appeal for information and sharing new details that could help identify the woman. At around 5.25pm on Friday 28 August, officers were called after a member of the public discovered a black bin bag in bushes within the park's walled garden. Officers attended and sadly found the body of the woman. It is believed she had been there for several weeks, possibly since early July. The woman was white, approximately 5ft 2in tall and of slight build and was found wearing a pink Nike T-shirt. Further enquiries have revealed: ▪ The woman had no teeth, meaning dental records have not been available to assist with identification. ▪ She suffered from osteoporosis, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and arthritis in her hands. ▪ She was malnourished, although it has not been possible to determine whether this was linked to her age or neglect. ▪ We have also expanded our enquiries to investigate reports of women aged between 60 and 80. The family of a mum and her three children who tragically died following a fire at a home in Bootle have paid tribute. Elisha Brabin, 36, Leo Brabin, 16, Ellis Brabin, 8, and Prudence Brabin, 7, passed away on Tuesday 22 September following the fire on Stone Square. In a tribute issued today (Wednesday 23 September), the family said: “Our whole family is devastated by the loss of Elisha, Leo, Ellis and Prudence. “Elisha was our beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunty, niece and cousin. She was a devoted and loving mother who lived for her children. They were her whole world, and she meant everything to us. “Our beautiful babies, Leo, Ellis and Prudence, were loved beyond measure and brought so much joy, happiness and love to our family. They filled our lives with laughter and precious memories that we will cherish forever. “The tragic loss of Elisha and our three precious children has left us heartbroken. They have all been taken from us far too soon. The loss we are experiencing is unimaginable, and the impact on our family will be felt forever. “As we try to come to terms with this devastating tragedy, we kindly ask that our family's privacy is respected whilst we grieve and support one another through this incredibly difficult time. #JAILED | A man has been jailed for 16 years after encouraging a child to send him indecent images of herself and her cousin. It was reported Lloyd Sweeting, 34 years, from Speke contacted a 10-year-old child online and encouraged her to take indecent photographs of herself and her cousin, also a child. The owner of the account was identified as Sweeting and he was arrested on 18 April 2024 and devices seized for examination. Following extensive enquires and the examination of his devices and interactions with the victim, he was charged and ultimately convicted of the following offences: •Four counts of causing or inciting a female under 13 to engage in sexual activity •One count of possession of extreme pornographic images •Two counts of possession of indecent photographs Sweeting appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday 22 September where he was sentenced to 16 years in prison. Detective Superintendent Siobhan Russell said 🗣️“The victim in this case, who lives in the UK, sent images to Sweeting out of fear of the repercussions if she didn’t. “She has been left traumatised by Sweeting’s appalling actions and the psychological impact of what he subjected her to will be long-lasting. “Sweeting poses a clear danger to children, amongst the most vulnerable in our society, and it is right that he will now spend a significant period of time in prison. “I hope he spends that time considering the full impact of his actions and the ordeal he has put his victims through.” Det Supt Russell added: "While we would always encourage parents and guardians to be aware of their children's online activity, young people should be able to use technology without being targeted and exploited by adults seeking to abuse them for their own sexual gratification. “We remain committed to identifying and prosecuting those who seek to exploit children online and will continue to work tirelessly to safeguard vulnerable young people.”   This conviction comes as Merseyside Police and the Police and Crime Commissioner continues their ‘Call it what it is’ campaign, which highlights the reality of child sexual exploitation and challenges perpetrators who groom, manipulate and abuse children. #APPEAL | We have released an image of a man who could have information following an assault in #Liverpool city centre. At around 6.15am on Sunday 20 September, a 19-year-old man was assaulted by another male on Hanover Street and sustained a serious head injury. He is currently in hospital in a serious but stable condition. An investigation is ongoing into the incident and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. #MISSING | We are appealing for help in finding 17-year-old Jevan Moore who is missing from home in #Birkdale. Jevan was last seen on Liverpool Road area in the early hours of yesterday morning (Tuesday 22 September) and extensive enquiries are being carried out to find him. ✅Four arrests ✅One seized E-Bike ✅Seizure of drugs, knife and a machete On Tuesday 22 September, as part of Operation Gears, proactive work by our officers in areas such as Anfield, Speke and Bootle led to positive results and further highlights our continued effort to relentlessly pursue those illegally riding e-bikes, e-scooters and electric motorcycles, and using them to facilitate crime. Here’s a roundup of the action: •Our officers observed a male in Stanley Park who was on an e-bike and carrying a black rucksack, which he placed in a bush. Officers then recovered the bag and found it contained a large quantity of Class B and C drugs. An 18-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled Class B drug (cannabis) and possession of a controlled Class B drug (cannabis). He has been released under investigation. •We received a report that a male was wearing a balaclava and riding a scrambler bike in a dangerous manner in the Critchley Road area of Speke. The rider failed to stop for police and travelled on pavements before fleeing to a nearby address where officers made two arrests and seized the bike. A 23-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and possession of a Class B drug (cannabis). A 32-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug (cannabis) and possession of an offensive weapon (machete). They both remain in police custody. •A male was spotted riding an illegally adapted e-bike on Irlam Road, in Bootle. He was followed by officers to a nearby shop and arrested inside when officers found he was in possession of a knife and cannabis. A 16-year-old boy from Bootle was arrested and subsequently charged with the following offences: - Possession of a knife/blade/sharp pointed article in a public place - Possession of a controlled Class B drug - Using a motor vehicle without third party insurance - Driving without a licence He has been bailed to appear at Liverpool Youth Court on Tuesday 17 November. We want to remind you that the police will never call, text or email you asking for your banking details. Recently we’ve had three reports of people receiving a call from a police number where the caller talks about cryptocurrency. This is a scam and we’d urge anyone who receives a call like this to hang up and report the incident to @reportfrauduk . Several other police forces around the country have had similar reports from people receiving calls from unknown landline numbers. When these numbers are put into a search engine the results come back as the non-emergency number for that force or a local police station. The scam caller pretends to be from the police then starts talking about crypto-currency and suspicious activity on the person’s account. This is the tactic fraudsters use to win your trust and obtain personal information from you. Don’t fall for it! The police will never call or message you asking for your banking details. Three men were arrested yesterday. - Patrick Morgan, 31, of Canterbury Way, Liverpool has been charged with two counts of Section 18 wounding with intent; Violent Disorder; and Possession of a bladed article. - Jonny Gee, 18, of Halkyn Drive, Everton has been charged with two counts of Section 18 wounding with intent; Violent Disorder; and Possession of a bladed article. - Stephen Gee, 22, of Halkyn Drive, Everton has been charged with one count of Section 18 wounding with intent; Violent Disorder; and Possession of Class B controlled drugs. #ARREST | Detectives investigating the stabbing of a group of males in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of Sunday morning (20 September) have arrested three men. At around 6.35am, officers were called to Tithebarn Street after three men were found injured. All three victims were taken to hospital for assessment and one remains in hospital in a stable condition. It is believed the incident took place outside the G-Bar on Eberle Street following an altercation between two groups inside. Following enquiries, we have arrested a 31-year-old man from Liverpool on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder, a 22-year-old man from Liverpool on suspicion of two counts of s18 wounding and an 18-year-old man from Liverpool on suspicion of one count of s18 wounding. All three are in custody and enquiries into the incident are ongoing. Liverpool BCU Chief Superintendent Natalie Perischine said 🗣️ “We have a zero-tolerance approach to anyone who chooses to carry a weapon in the city centre and my message to those individuals is ‘we will hunt you down’. “Officers have been working round the clock to identify those responsible for this shocking incident in the early hours of Sunday morning. Within hours of it taking place we had executed a number of warrants and now have three people in custody. “Our proactive work to combat violence in the city centre remains a priority and we are seeing positive results. “As part of Operation Amalfi, which focuses on youth violence, and Operation Monaco, we have seen an uplift in proactive city centre patrols, increased visibility at weekends and public holidays, the successful use of dispersal zones and city centre banning orders and continued partnership work. “Year on year we have seen a 10% reduction in serious violence in the city centre as well as reductions in knife and violent crime. “Liverpool is already recognised as one of the safest cities for a night out, as demonstrated by our Purple Flag status, which has been awarded for 16 consecutive years. “We know how important it is that people who live, work and socialise in Liverpool city centre, feel safe and I want the public to be reassured that we are doing everything in our powers to find violent criminals and put them behind bars"

We have released an image of a man who could have information following a robbery in Liverpool city centre. On Thursday 3 September at around 6.30pm, it was reported that a man aged in his 20s was walking on Whitechapel, near McDonald’s, when he was assaulted by a male who took his mobile phone. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to a broken nose. An investigation is ongoing to find the person responsible, and we are asking anyone who recognises the pictured man to come forward. Detective Inspector Lee Egerton said: “This was a shocking and cowardly assault with the suspect approaching his victim from behind before punching and kicking him. “We are determined to find the person who did this and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
