Following the theft of a moped, two suspects made off from officers on foot. One was detained, while the second continued to run. PD Ike was deployed following a foot chase and quickly detained the suspect, who was arrested. Great work from Ike and all involved. 🐾

On Monday PDs Poppy & Ike worked together to apprehend a wanted male. Poppy tracked the male & when he realised the net was closing in he made off again right into the path of Ike before going into gardens. Ike quickly brought this to an end locating him hiding in a bush 👏 💪

On Sunday night two males wearing balaclavas fled from a stolen vehicle & made off from officers with 1 disappearing into thick undergrowth. Over to PD Ziggy who tracked the male battling his way through thick foliage before he located & detained the suspect ➡️ #charged #remanded

Last night a victim was subjected to a violent robbery involving a machete when his E bike was stolen. PD Ike rushed to its last known location & set about searching before locating the stolen bike well hidden in bushes. Bike reunited, enquiries on going. Great work Ike 👏 🚲

Last night 3 masked men rode dangerously on x3 Surons making off into woodland. PD Ziggy tracked the trio for 45 mins & 2km locating them deep in woodland. They panicked & ran. Ziggy deployed🟰 x1 rider in possession of a knife detained 🦷 #ouch Outstanding work Ziggy 🏍️🏍️🏍️🔪👏

PD Bane helped out overnight following a business burglary in Liverpool, the offenders made off in a van which was pursued by a @MerPolTraffic Sgt, before dumping the van and running away. Bane found one male hiding in bushes who saw Bane and decided didn’t want to run anymore.

Over the weekend a vehicle failed to stop for PD Ike & his handler resulting in a pursuit before 5 occupants bailed on foot 🏃 Being outnumbered was no concern for Ike who enforced the swift arrest of one male bringing him straight into custody #ouch #robustpolicing 🦷👏

This week we said happy retirement to PD Yoko 🐾 As a Firearms Support Dog, Yoko supported officers at countless incidents, including the Southport disorder, protected her handler in some very challenging situations and earned two commendations. Enjoy retirement, Yoko! 🐕‍🦺

After a male made off from armed response officers earlier today, he was quickly detained. PD Bear was then tasked to search the area for discarded property. 🐻🐾 His search paid off! A mobile phone was found hidden in heavy undergrowth. 📱 Wonder what we'll find on there… 👀

Last night PD Dobby assisted patrols with the search of a property in Liverpool. Dobby didn’t disappoint after he located a large quantity of cannabis hidden in the base of an oven leading to the arrest of the occupier for possession with intent to supply 👏 👨‍🍳 #cleverboy

Even from the comfort of retirement PD Quga is still delivering justice. In 2023 Reece Summers was brought down to earth by PD Quga just like the drone he was flying to convey drugs crashed into Walton Prison. Over 12 months on the run last week Summers was jailed for 2 years 🦷

A great start for PD Bear 🐻 on his first night shift with his new handler! Following a domestic burglary and assault, a male made off on foot. Bear tracked and located him hiding nearby. The male, also wanted for immigration offences, was arrested. Well done, Team Bear! 👏

Last night PD Ike & his handler pursued this high powered EAPC before it entered a wooded area disappearing. PD Ike wasn’t for giving up & tracked the bike some distance before locating the rider bike-less. Over to PD Ziggy who assisted & located the bike hidden in bushes 🚲 👏

🐾 PD Harley was called into action last night after a male made off from officers following reports of domestic assault and criminal damage. CCTV showed him entering a wooded area, where Harley quickly found him hiding in a bush. 🌳🐕 You can run, but you can't hide! #Gotcha

Meet TPD Sid! 🐾 At just 8 weeks old, he's officially joined the team. After a busy day exploring his new home, meeting lots of new people and taking in all the new sights and smells, it's safe to say he's earned this nap. Welcome, Sid! 💙

ARREST | We arrested four people after a car was stopped in Liverpool in the early hours of this morning, Monday 3 August. At around 12.50am an officer on uniformed patrol conducted a stop check of a Volkswagen T-Roc on North Hill Street. As the car was coming to a stop the rear seat passenger got out of the car and ran away. He was pursued by PD Turbo (pictured) and his handler. Despite numerous warnings that a police dog was present and to stop, the subject continued to attempt to evade detention. Despite being kicked several times by the offender PD Turbo continued to control the subject until secured by officers. He received an immediate veterinary check-up and initial assessment is that he has minor cuts and bruises, but no serious injuries. A second male who made off was also detained on Merlin Street together with two female who were in the car. Following a search of the car a large quantity of suspected Class C drugs (nitrous oxide canisters) were located together with a Rambo-style knife. A 17-year-old male from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (cocaine); possession with intent to supply a Class C drug; possession of bladed article and causing unnecessary cruelty to a service animal. A 25-year-old man from Huyton was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class C drug with intent to supply and possession of a bladed article. An 18-year-old woman from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of drug driving, possession of a Class C drug with intent to supply and possession of a bladed article. A 19-year-old woman from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (cocaine), possession of a Class C drug with intent to supply and possession of a bladed article. All four are currently in custody as enquiries continue. Matrix Inspector Phil McManus said: “Our police dogs and their handlers frequently put their own safety on the line when it comes to pursuing and detaining offenders. “PD Turbo was kicked in the face numerous times but was able to continue to detain the male so he could be arrested. “We are committed to removing drugs and those who chose to sell them from our streets and would ask the public to continue to support us by giving us information.” Got information about who is dealing drugs in your community? Not content with just one job, PD RICO was soon back in action after reports of a male making threats and claiming to have a knife. With all 42 pearly whites on show, PD RICO encouraged the male to surrender. The male was safely arrested without injury to anyone involved.
