We remember #FBI Supervisory Special Agent Steven A. Carr, who died from health complications after being exposed to hazardous contaminants while responding to the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The air around the Pentagon was still clouded with burning aviation fuel and smoldering debris when Agent Carr was interviewing witnesses at the Pentagon’s Navy Annex across the street. After his indictment, Siddharth Jawahar, 38, tried to obstruct justice by trying to coach a victim into giving a favorable statement to the #FBI, lying about his immigration status and finances and trying to get his sister to remotely wipe his iPhone to hide evidence. We remember #FBI Special Agent Jerry Jobe who responded to the 9/11 terrorist attack on the Pentagon. The Kansas native helped search for survivors and possible evidence. After being exposed to toxic air from burning aviation fuel and smoldering debris at the crash site, Agent Jobe was diagnosed with colon cancer and succumbed to the disease 9 years later. fbi.gov/history/wall-of-hono…

Special Agent Leonard Hatton was on his way to work at #FBI New York when he saw smoke and fire coming from the World Trade Center (WTC). On his own initiative, he responded to the site and helped evacuate people. Agent Hatton was inside the WTC when the buildings collapsed as a result of the 9/11 terrorist attack. ow.ly/ui7050ZMCZT

A Russian national was extradited to the United States for alleged involvement in a credential-harvesting and bank-fraud operation that caused millions of dollars in losses. Sergey Anatolyevich Filimonov and his co-conspirators allegedly created spoofed domains of legitimate financial institutions and then used paid search-engine ads to steer unsuspecting banking customers to these fraudulent login pages. Filimonov was extradited from the Republic of Georgia. @FBIAtlanta is investigating the case and helped secure his arraignment on Friday. justice.gov/opa/pr/russian-n…

“Terry Michael Howard actually knew both minors but pretended to be someone else online to trick them. He threatened to harm a third juvenile if the two victims didn’t produce sexually explicit images,” said Acting Special Agent in Charge Joe Weston of the FBI St. Louis Division. “I commend both 13-year-old victims for their bravery. Even though they were the ones who were sexually exploited, they called 911 because they were worried another person would be harmed.”
