Yesterday one of our motor officers worked a speeding complaint area in the 7400 block of S Lemay which is a 40 mph zone. In total, 10 citations were issued with the highest speeds being 87/40, 84/40, 65/40, and 62/40. Please slow down and follow the speed limit. These speeds put everyone in danger. Our Traffic Unit will continue to address dangerous driving behavior.

09/10/26 10:30 p.m. Police and emergency personnel have responded to a report of gunfire near Edora Pool and Ice Center. Two people have been transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police are investigating the incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Sept. 10: There is an electric outage taking place near North Shields Street and Laporte Avenue. Crews estimate power will be back on by 5 p.m.

08/29/26 2 p.m. Update: The Collision Reconstruction And Scene Handling team is investigating the crash scene and Mountain Ave. is closed in both directions near the crash site, from College Ave. to Mason Ave. All injured have been transported to area hospitals. ORIGINAL POST 08/17/26 11:45 p.m. Colorado Bureau of Investigations has put out an alert for a missing indigenous person. Linda, 70 y.o. female, is believed to have left on foot from the 3000 block of Ross Dr. in Fort Collins sometime after 6 a.m. this morning. There are concerns for her safety. If you have information that can help locate Linda, please call 911.

8/12/26 7:30 p.m. Community Information A large police presence is at a reaidence near Taft Hill Rd. and Hyline Dr. SWAT served a warrant for failure to comply. The subject briefly barricaded inside, and after chemical agents were deployed he was safely taken into custody. There is no threat to the community and no additional updates will be published.

7/24/26 8:20 a.m. Update: The Coroner has taken possession of the body and emergency personnel have cleared the scene. Preliminary investigation indicates there is no threat to public safety. No additional details at this time.

7/24/26 6:30 a.m. Police and emergency personnel are at the retaining ponds at Harmony Rd and Ziegler Rd where a body was discovered early this morning. There are no additional details right now regarding the individual or manner of death. Drivers please pay attention to instructions by personnel on scene and detour as needed.

UPDATE The train has moved and the roads are open.

07/20/26 Swallow Rd. is shut down at McClelland Dr. due to a stopped train. Earlier today, the train and a pedestrian were involved in a collision and the pedestrian was transported for local medical evaluation for minor injuries. The specific circumstances of the incident are under investigation, but we have been notified the pedestrian was stable and is undergoing further testing.
