UPDATE: An newsroom I admire too much to scoop outright is close, I'm told, to naming the agent who killed Lorenzo Salgado Araujo ... as early as Thursday AM, si dios quiere y la santisima virgen.
> “What are the names of the ICE agents who killed my dad? Why do they get to be protected by anonymity while my brother and me stand before cameras…?”

A federal judge on Monday ordered U.S. immigration authorities to release Jose Trinidad Rojas Pliego, one of the witnesses to Lorenzo Salgado Araujo's shooting. U.S. District Judge Keith Ellison granted Rojas' habeas petition and ordered ICE to release him from a Conroe detention facility within 48 hours, according to a filing issued in the Southern District of Texas. bit.ly/4wBlXIP

CDL drivers deliver what matters and keep our economy moving. Tonight, I hosted a People's Hearing where we heard from non-domiciled drivers, owner-operators, and companies about how CDL regulations are impacting them, their businesses, and their families. No one deserves the uncertainty of not knowing whether they will be able to work. We need policies that support our workforce and keep our economy moving. @FIELHouston @MollyforTexas @CarolforTexas @RepMorales145 @repmaryann

Dreamers are American in every way but on paper. But on this #DACA14 anniversary, they are facing an increasing threat of deportation from this out of control administration. The House needs to act. Bring my bipartisan American Dream and Promise Act up for a vote. #HomeIsHere @HispanicCaucus @HouseDemocrats @FIELHouston @UWDTexas @FWDus

On the 14th anniversary of DACA, I stood with Dreamers in Houston to demand action from Congress. DACA has provided protection from deportation and a chance to breathe, but under the Trump administration, Dreamers are facing detentions, deportations, and delays in renewals that are costing them their livelihoods. Dreamers deserve protection, dignity, and a permanent pathway to citizenship. The House must vote on the American Dream and Promise Act.

Paxton’s Senate Bid Raises the Stakes in His War on Latino Voting Groups Then he was served with a state lawsuit seeking to dissolve FIEL because of internet posts that had denounced the immigration policies of the governor, Greg Abbott. “It felt like we were getting hit by another disaster,” Mr. @Cesar_Espinosa said. nytimes.com/2026/06/06/us/po…

Great to meet with immigrant families and students in the fight & CDL drivers today in Houston. Truck drivers and workers in the logistics industry keep our economy moving, yet many are being impacted by harmful policies and uncertainty. We must continue supporting the workers and families who are essential to our supply chains and communities. @FIELHouston
