Yesterday, Commissioner @HenmackIII presented @PolkState with a more than $54,000 contribution from the @FLCollegeSystem Foundation to the Polk State College Foundation. This contribution supports scholarships for Polk State students and represents our commitment to providing opportunity for Floridians.

Great crowd yesterday @SpaceFlorida where leaders in aerospace education, industry and research gathered to support our push to bring the Space Academy to Florida!

Today, I joined fellow presidents @DrEricHall with @PHSCedu, Dr. Thomas LoBasso with @DSC_News and @semstatepres Dr. Georgia Lorenz to support @SenAshleyMoody in bringing the newly established U.S. Space Academy to Florida.   This legislation will allow the U.S. Space Academy to reach great heights thanks to our state’s existing infrastructure, growing aviation industry and highly skilled talent pipeline that will ensure its success.

Florida already launches the nation. It should train the next generation of astronauts, engineers, technicians, and warfighters too. Yesterday, I sent @NASAAdmin Isaacman Florida’s case for making the Space Coast the permanent home of the United States Space Academy. 30,000+ Space Coast aerospace workers. ✅ Nearly 149,000 statewide. ✅ The pipeline is not a promise. It is already running: 200,000 students in space-aligned CTE ✅ 40+ districts in the Space Florida Academy Program ✅ 25,000+ apprentices and pre-apprentices ✅ Universities and colleges from Embry-Riddle to @UCF to @EasternFlorida sitting next to the pads ✅ Cadets should train beside the people who actually fly, build, and defend American spacepower—not adjacent to them.
