It's hard to find empathy, but it's important to remember no one becomes an abuser in a vacuum. Every instance of abuse comes from a place of trauma.
Not to say abusers should be given passes. Support their victims/do no harm. In rare cases abusers can recover.

If a gendered behavior is considered sexist when it disadvantages women, but desirable or romantic when it advantages women, then the underlying standard isn't simply opposition to gender roles. It's opposition to particular female gender roles.

I really don't care about the insults. I will forever be pro choice.
Nearly 2 women die a day due to pregnancy and childbirth complications in the US.
In states where abortion remains legal, maternal deaths fell 21%.
Anyone who calls a woman selfish for choosing to not risk her life doesn't value women's lives.
Also- noted not a single WOMAN attacked me. Only men, who don't risk their lives to have children.

I'm a woman. I've carried children. Your view and statement of pregnancy as a single static condition is far too simplified, and far too common.
This is the mistake behind banning abortion.
It's not a simple " use protection" argument, and anyone who takes the time to consider this knows this to be true.
Not only are there considerations of human error and assault, there are considerations to life changes and health impact.
We have women dying, or women's bodies on life support. Why? The concept of a fetus has become more important than the living, breathing woman whose body is supporting it.
This is not right, and I'd like to see the oversimplified focus of a fetus to shift back to at least include the considerations to the health of the woman.
The fact so many have been offended by this, and my statements to bring the focus back to the physical reality of pregnancy for the woman, is disheartening.
If you can look at your mother, daughter, friend, girlfriend and wife- and imagine yourself telling this woman that you care for she's a cunt, she's selfish, she's an idiot- any of those insults thrown at me- because she won't give up her life and health to give another person the OPPORTUNITY of a life (because again-pregnancy doesn't guarantee a living child) then by all means stand firm in your pro-life stance.
But I'm fairly certain given the reality of holding a woman's hand as she crashes out in the matter of hours from pre-eclampsia, watching a woman hemmorage to death, seeing a 15 year old girl become pregnant and the reality of her and that child's life, or a father and children crying as mom codes on the delivery bed, or both parents working two jobs while older siblings care for younger siblings, barely having enough food and homes burning down due to stove heat in the winter- these realities will likely shake your staunch pro-life stance to its core.
I don't believe in late term abortion. But heartbeat laws? Every pregnancy matters trope? This is a fairy tale for a world where every conception is healthy, every family has food and housing, every child lives in a government where thwy are valued with schooling and medical care, where children aren't raped.

A case I didn't know about:
Daniel Waterman was just 22 and having an argument with his pregnant girlfriend when she intentionally drove recklessly and slammed the car into a tree. Daniel was dead on scene, but revived.
He was able to tell people what happened. He survived for months- unable to breathe on his own, unable to move. He unfortunately died from his injuries.
His girlfriend is charged with vehicular homicide. She's been allowed to keep custody of their child.
A status conference is Oct 12.
How many of these cases went unrecognized until technology allowed black box data pulls?

First, of those cases sent to trial, Model 3 shows that male accused were more likely to be found guilty at trial than female accused. Moreover, Model 5 demonstrates that male accused were more likely to be convicted overall than female accused and, as shown in Model 6, they were also more likely to be convicted of the more serious charges of either first- or second-degree murder than females. Finally, Model 7 shows that male accused were more likely to receive a federal sentence compared to female accused.
The gender of the victim was also an important determinant at all but one stage of the criminal justice process. First, if the victim was male, the accused was less likely to be charged with first-degree murder (Model 1) and less likely to have their case resolved at trial (Model 2) compared to those who killed female victims. Second, if the victim was male, of those acquitted of their crimes (Model 4), the accused was less likely to be found not criminally responsible by reason of mental disorder than when the victim was female. Third, those accused of killing male victims were more likely to be convicted overall (Model 5), but less likely to be convicted of murder (Model 6) than those accused of killing female victims. Finally, with respect to sentencing, those who killed male victims were less likely to be sentenced to a federal institution (Model 7) and received shorter sentences (Model 8) than those accused of killing female victims.

🚨 BREAKING - NEW FILING IN THE LINDSAY CLANCY CASE: DEFENSE TARGETS ONE JUROR FOR POSSIBLE MISCONDUCT
Lindsay Clancy’s defense is asking the court to investigate one deliberating juror — identified only as “Juror Doe.”
According to the motion, the defense wants the judge to:
• Obtain the juror’s confidential questionnaire and compare it with their voir dire answers
• Review records connected to an alleged 2021 prosecution and abuse-prevention order involving that juror
• Find out what background information prosecutors had about the juror before and during trial
• Preserve jury notes, court recordings, phone sign-in logs and courthouse video
• Subpoena limited cellphone call/text and data records from deliberation days
• Have a neutral examiner conduct a limited extraction of the phone
• Question Juror Doe in court about whether they answered truthfully and whether they used a phone or received outside information during deliberations
• Hear from Juror No. 10 about what they allegedly observed regarding Juror Doe’s phone use
The defense wants the motion heard September 29 in open court.

As sad and disheartening as ‘men’s issues’ are, there is actually something worse…
And that is: the chronic lack of political will and interest in addressing such issues.
For example, male suicide remains the biggest risk to life for all men under fifty, claiming more than half a million (!!) men’s lives worldwide each year.
That number is impossibly large, and truly staggering.
But what is somehow more shocking, is that when national plans are announced to help combat suicide – such as earlier this month in Italy – somehow suicidal men are routinely left in the cold, with women made a ‘priority’ group instead.
That’s right…
Despite men being 78% of suicides in Italy, women will be one of the primary beneficiaries of Italia’s recently announced ‘National Plan for Suicide Prevention’ instead.
And for me, that is the most shocking part of this whole space...

My hardest fight as a Buddhist is dealing with people.
When I first lost my home and had to move into this slum apartment, the first summer- fleas. So bad! I'd never encountered anything like this, so I actually waged war.
I cleared the underbrush the other tenants had let go for years. I mowed the grass weekly- something they neglected. I treated the yard, my pets, and vacuumed every other day, taking the bags outside to the trash. I brushed my pets with a flea comb daily.
Imagine- in a month *my* fleas were gone. Not so my neighbors. They'd bomb their apartment without telling me; not only would blow down make me ill dying fleas would drift into my apartment.
I bought drywall supplies and sealed off all the entry points from their floor and my ceiling. Done deal for me but I'd get an occasional text: hey, our dog has fleas again. Hey, have you noticed anything?

It was always no. My pets are on monthly prevention. My apartment is clean and sealed off from yours now.
This third and last summer rolls around and they're complaining their dog is infested again. Guys, you take this dog hiking and camping. Prevention isn't going to help.
ANYWAY I start getting texts with the landlord involved. The neighbor is convinced it's my fault. I agree to a full pest control inspection because I'm tired of dealing with the neighbor.
They search, find and report no sign of fleas in my home. I think the end.
Nope, neighbor won't give up. It has to be my fault. They arrange with pest control and landlord for the entire building to be treated, whoch would require me to move out with my pet for several days. Without my knowledge. I'm informed only because I get a text they're there for treatment.
I put my foot down and said no. Your problem is a you problem. Leave me out of it as of right now; I've allowed inspection. I've proven I'm not the problem. The landlord was unaware *I* was unaware and backs me up.
TLDR stupid neighbor hates me now because of this. And yeah they have a "be kind" sticker on their car and consider themselves good little hippies.
It's so hard to find patience.

Not narcissistic as thrown around by social media; a true narcissistic person.
An empty human husk, walking, talking, driven by only their wants, pathological insecurity and emptiness.
They'll destroy you, your children, your family on any given Tuesday for even the promise doing so might make them feel good- shrug and say "That's too bad. It had to be done."

A 15 year old boy murdered his family.
His relatives are testifying he and his siblings were abused.
Courts are deciding whether to try him as an adult.
This is why recognition to abused boys matters. This is why changing the status quo of ignoring boys and men's mental health in crime, but using women's mental health as a determining factor in crime, matters.

I've discussed the manipulation of perception by using % before. To be exact, this is approximatley the equivalent of 1 in every 2.8 women, and 1 in every 3.5 men.
That's how closely tracked IPV victim rates are between men and women. But men have no shelters, no family shelters, no public awareness and no safe places.

Christina’s post reminded me of this chart. I’m still shaking my head over it. Democrat women are the least likely to say all-male groups have a positive impact on society… yet they’re also the group most likely to use the term “mankeeping” and complain it’s a burden on women.
Women's groups fought to dismantle men's clubs, fraternities, the Boy Scouts, the YMCA. Now they're surprised men are isolated — and that it's women who pay for it.
