The Trump administration is planning to welcome up to 17,500 additional White Afrikaners from South Africa as refugees over the next 12 months, according to a notice sent to Congress and obtained by CBS News.
Trump administration officials say Afrikaners, the descendants of European settlers from the Netherlands, are victims of racial oppression. But those claims are heavily disputed, including by some Afrikaners and the South African government.
