We've had brothers and cousins play for the Flyers before. We've had uncles (the Hillmans) and a nephew (Brian Savage). Even had a father (Bill Dineen) coach his son (Kevin).
But tonight was a first: father (Mike Knuble) and son (Cole) play for the team.

Just chatting with my old buddy Mike Knuble. He and his wife are here in Philly for Coles debut tonight. Found out yesterday he got the call and had time to make it in from Michigan! Congrats to the entire Knuble family!

On my way home from an incredible week out west and up north. Through the Yukon to Old Crow, 80mi north of the Arctic Circle, Whitehorse, Carmacks, Teslin then into Big River, Saskatchewan. Thanks to the Celebrity Hockey Tour for hiring me to emcee/host. Details to follow. :)

Jason’s dad would be over the moon happy about this. He, too, had cancer and lost his battle only 2 months after diagnosis. He’s the reason why Jason loves this sport so much.
This season, the Flyers players are presenting boxing gloves to the player of the game after a win (took til last night for us to finally win one). It's in honor of the Rocky 50th anniversary. Last night, my colleague and friend, @jasonmyrt was given the first honors.
Toughest fighter you'll ever see.

"I believe in strength in numbers."
Flyers radio announcer @jasonmyrt is in a battle with cancer and spoke to the team at morning skate, preaching how he will never quit and encouraged the team to find a level of fight they didn't know they had. The Flyers have won their first game of the season after hearing Jason's story.

What a day/night. I don’t even know what to say, which is very rare for me. But I do want to make one thing clear. That win was not for me. It’s not about me. That win was for every fan. I could see the start of the season was hurting a lot of fans. I am proud of the way the boys came together in that game. They had to deal with some adversity with the Sens scoring first, having to kill a late penalty and didn’t buckle. Now it is onto the next one knowing the only way is to do it is together. Everyone with the same level of of fight and doing their job. Tonight feels good and the fans and players deserve it. Especially when a result like that win is earned through an honest effort with pride. @NHLFlyers

The @nhlflyers players had a very special visitor after morning skate today. At the invitation of Rick Tocchet, @jasonmyrt addresses the team.
He discussed his 30-minute philosophy. Set a timer. Take thirty mins to make a decision: give in or fight on.
It never takes the full time. The decision is always FIGHT ON.

Very special day for the Flyers Alumni today. Most of the surviving Alumni of the two Cup teams got together, capped off by one more night at Rexy's. The Stanley Cup was there, too.
Today was just for the Alumni. Tomorrow is just for the fans. We'll see you at Medford Lakes!!!

Sending condolences to @NHLFlyers anthem singer @LaurenHartMusic &her family on the passing of her amazing mom, Sarah, 90.
She was the wife of the late Gene Hart, the Flyers’ HoF broadcaster. Sarah was a famed rider of the high-diving horse at AC’s Steel Pier in the late 1950s,
