The only people excited that Jaylin Noel only sees so many opportunities and so much of the field in this offense are opposing defenses.
The “nuances” they demand younger guys to learn don’t mean as much if the minor bumps in the learning curve come with explosive plays.
Excellent line of questioning by @LandryLocker in regards to Jaylin Noel & his playtime & who determines it to Nick Caley:
“I would say Jaylin has gotten on the field consistently. I have no lack of faith in him at all. We have groupings. I’ll call the groupings when we get into games based on the situation. The biggest thing is continuing to build in all facets. Just gotta bring him a long and continue to do that and he’s working his ass off to do that.”

My fear with Boutte slowly came to fruition. He’s a magician in contested catches, but has to make them because he has trouble separating. Stroud’s being asked to minimize risk, so throwing to a WR regularly covered is counterintuitive, especially on short notice.

The best part of the Boutte and Texans fit is that he’s very willing to make catches over the middle. Pretty simple routes, but Stroud love them and Boutte has a very good feel for where to settle.
