This is an amazing concept that not all coaching staffs seem to adapt.
Some coaches blame players and take minimal blame. Some staffs don’t adapt when personnel shifts.
Lane Kiffin with a great answer on the “next man up” mentality after injuries.
“Just call your plays, and then you just blame the player. ‘Well, he’s not good enough.’ Well, that’s not a coach’s job, in my opinion.”
Kiffin says it’s on coaches to adapt their schemes to the players they actually have.

1. High aDot and high accuracy over expected (PFF) shows the aggressiveness of his throws.
2. Tight window percentage is top 5 (NGS)
3. Catchable rate is middle of the pack (FantasyPts)
4. Low separation scores for the WRs (FantasyPts)
5. Yet his turnover worthy throw rate is very low.

The Fairbairn kickoff bit is ridiculous at this point. Between the Seattle game and this one Frank Ross just isn’t getting his message across during crucial times. Combine this with the entire kickoff and punt return operation on both sides and it’s time to look at his status.
