Review: Marvel's Wolverine
That's Wolverine done! I had a really great time with this one. Combat is satisfyingly brutal and vicious, as I hoped, and Liam Macintyre is just awesome as Logan. While it's not as strong as Spider-Man in my opinion and certain QoL issues could get in the way, I walked away highly entertained with a smile on my face. Cheers

PROS
🟩 Feels like a PS2/PS3 action brawler with PS5 production values
🟩 Fantastic visuals almost across the board, highly detailed and animated character models
🟩 Gorgeous and varied environments
🟩 Speed and intensity of the combat did a great job of making me feel like Wolverine
🟩 While combat is relatively simple overall, stabbing dudes in the face, chaining kills, and performing violently brutal special attacks is very satisfying
🟩 Memorable boss fights, including what may be one of my favorites from Insomniac (Deathstrike)
🟩 Full of badass and well directed setpiece moments
🟩 Liam Macintyre delivers an excellent performance as Logan and is one of my favorite renditions of the character. Krizia Bajos is equally amazing as Jean
🟩 Pleasantly surprising and endearing relationship between Logan and Jean Grey that I quite enjoyed (Jean is a baddie)
🟩 Strong performances from the supporting cast like Mystique, Sabretooth and Nathaniel Essex
🟩 Nightmare rooms are fun challenges and I liked the rewards - I could listen to Liam recount Wolverine memories in a gravelly voice all day
🟩 Enjoyable banter between characters during gameplay/combat, especially Logan and Jean
🟩 Welcome variety of suits and claw types
🟩 Great audio design and soundtrack
🟩 Excellent image quality and technical performance, especially on PS5 Pro
CONSIDERATIONS
🟨 Cooldown timers for abilities/techniques feel just a little too long
🟨I do wish the memories in nightmare rooms were cutscenes or at least animated comics instead of voiced over text
🟨Listen, I like Troy Baker as much as the next guy, but I'd be okay if I don't see his 3D modeled face in yet another game for a while 😅
CONS
🟥 Found myself sometimes fighting the camera during combat
🟥While I found the combat satisfying, I still feel it needs more flair, like more unique combos, AOE attacks, etc
🟥Some clunkiness to movement and navigation, getting stuck on things in the environment, not as smooth as something like Spider-Man
🟥Lacking in enough enemy variety, could use another faction
🟥Needs more depth in things to do in the game: side activities or missions, collectibles, etc
Score: 8/10
