At a time when discussion around Final Fantasy is saturated with criticism, expressing disappointment, or simply pushing negativity, I decide to look back on why modern FF for the past 10 years still gets it. *Scenes used may be spoilers* WATCH HERE ▶️ piped.video/pFBXVL0-P4A

The only one I think I don’t enjoy is Revelation’s cover. I’m honestly fatigued of the MCU movie poster style in trying to fit every character imaginable on it. But the rest of them? Literally beautiful.
what's with square making some straight bullshit for their cover art lately

I know it makes sense for Revelation’s cover art, but I still dislike it lol

Some of these FF7 fans are perpetually corny oml
My other favorite comment, using FF7 to crap on FF8. I love FF7, but FF8 resonated with me way more. People need to accept some people’s favorite Final Fantasy games are not 6, 7, or 10. There’s something for everyone.

Just for those who didn’t understand I’m not saying this boss is hard, really the opposite. But the boss encounter design in KH1 was… something for sure. It’s why I appreciate KH2 that much more for its improvements.

As a Halo fan, I think I’m just so numb to bad news at this point because what do you mean we’re going from one developer who hardly understood Halo to another who will probably fuck it up even more. Fans might as well kiss goodbye forge mode and party based game modes for even more competitive multiplayer hell and SBM. Not to mention ads and battle passes on your screen 24/7… Halo is NOT back and probably never will be.
Halo fans thinking they’re free from 343 only to go to modern COD devs

Oh boy can’t wait for this future!
Microsoft has filed a patent for ads that could interrupt games after boss fights, cutscenes, quests and multiplayer rounds Players would receive credits granting temporary game access, while watching an ad would award another credit to let them resume

To be a fan of the remakes and still have a good laugh at this is a great feeling
FF7 if it was made today. Oh wait…

The way the remakes got me to actually play these previously optional characters infinitely more than I ever did in the original is crazy. The combat really translates perfectly for every character.
Cid's combat in FF7 Revelation is amazing to control! He can mark up to 5 enemies with his lance and do special abilities such as Dragoon Jump on multiple enemies

Dear god, it’s really that bad that they need to give it to Activision of all developers
The next Halo game will be made by Activision. Halo Studios is suffering significant layoffs today.

MAN…playing Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter has really reassured Final Fantasy would really do great to combine both what they’ve built with their action and ATB/TB combat. The way forward with the mainline combat, I feel, always laid in both to be creatively combined.

I’ve been open about being fine with the *optional* accessibility stuff, but I had no clue they removed hard mode. No way that’s actually real… actually why? They add optional settings that caters to casuals but not the other way around?
I'm still really excited about this game... but I do find some of this so baffling tbh. Especially THIS...

Engaging in battle systems isn’t the only way you experience playing an RPG. For many, battle is tolerated for the sake of exploring a world. Taking control to speak to NPCs and wander the world outside of combat engages the brain as vividly, albeit differently, as the challenge of combat. So the “Why not just watch the cutscenes if you don’t want to play a game” suggestion falls flat. It’s still playing, and thats why it’s preferable to a movie.
In REVELATION, we've introduced a feature that can automatically raise characters to the recommended level for story progression for players who want to enjoy the main story with less friction. Whether you prefer to immerse yourself in exploration and character growth or focus primarily on the narrative, we wanted to provide options that allow each player to experience the journey in the way that best suits them and see the story through to its conclusion. #FF7R

As a lifelong level grinder in RPGs, I might’ve previously seen these things as cheats or spoiling the game. But as an adult balancing a job, family, & content find them more acceptable. Plus seeing how my daughters and others choose to engage w/ entertainment, I don’t see them as bad; making the incredible stories found in video games more accessible isn’t a bad thing.
Naoki Hamaguchi says FF7 Revelation will have an option at a certain point in the game to automatically raise your characters level to to recommended level to progress for those that only want to play the main story. He says he got a lot of feedback from players only wanting to play the main story in Rebirth and skip the side content, that they were under leveled and struggled. He says he wants players who want to skip the open-world experience to have a similar linear story driven experience to FF7 Remake so they will include an option that pops up at a certain point asking "Do you want to automatically raise the level to the recommended level?" He says players that don't want to explore the open world and just want to play the main story can select the option to automatically adjust the level. piped.video/watch?v=G5S0weOK…

The way optional settings piss people off is astounding, truly.

These are options I don’t get mad about because not only are they *optional*, but we ALL know there will people who don’t want to deal with the checklist designed side content at all and just want to experience the story at a consistent pace exclusively.
