The 32GB Framework Desktop Mainboard is possibly the lowest priced path at the moment to build a new entry level gaming rig, at $969 USD.

Feel free to tape a brick to it.

I really like you, but bc250 is way cheaper

Valid, and we like that as a path to resurrect what would otherwise be e-waste. It's not for everyone though given the compatibility and form factor challenges.

For about that price, on the second hand market I go: - 5950X 16 cores / 32 threads - 32GB RAM - 250W 14cm fan cooler - 2TB NVME SSD - RTX 3080 10G - 750W PSU - Nice case with glass, fancy LED and 3 fans. Not on the edge, but definitively on budget. Still very powerful for almost any usual workload.

A grand in to the build with that and you don’t even have any storage to show for it.

AMD Ryzen AI Max 385. The 64GB config has a 395.

you're able to upgrade this with an external gpu right?

Technically there is an x4 PCIe slot, but really the value is using the integrated GPU in the Ryzen AI Max 385 (or 395 on the 64GB and 128GB configs).

Im a little confused. Is this basically an all in one missing storage and a screen? Im not trying to be funny here. If its what im looking for I may buy a few.

This is a Mainboard. You need a case, power supply, storage, and fan, plus anything else you'd need for a desktop, like a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

Can I just put it in an ITX case with a standard ATX PSU? The position of the 24pin and 8pin are non standard, just want to make sure it works with off the shelves PSU. Would 450W+ be enough?
1

Yes, you can. We recommend 500W+ to handle peak load.
