UPDATE: A source with connections in @NYCMayor's office and the NYPD spoke to me on background and provided the following information: "I spoke to NYPD. A group of young people left a party around 4am, many from outside the neighborhood. They were causing disruptions by blasting loud music, grabbing pedestrians to dance with them, blocking traffic, and consuming alcohol in public. Concerned residents and Shomrim contacted NYPD to address the situation and maintain safety. When officers attempted to disperse the crowd with Shomrim's assistance, some kids became confrontational and started fighting with the police. The Williamsburg community has expressed appreciation for NYPD's handling of the situation."
