My wife (who loves Trump, always has) found this book at Ollies and bought it. The clerk scanned the book with her hand scanner and would not touch it, even to bag it. TDS is REAL and we live in a very RED area.

This and the conversation Klein had with Ta-Nehisi Coates suggest to me that there is no visible path for moving the national leaders of this coalition from a maximally insane 2020 mindset. And they’ll look at Rs and say “maximally insane Trumpism worked, so this will work!” But Trumpism looked less insane than their insane, and earned new voters lib insanity communicated they disliked intensely (hello, men). And they are nowhere close to acknowledging the true insanity of the 2020 mindset, and how it read to those new voters (and the voters they lost), who might not be adhered to Rs but you’d have to do some actual work to earn them back, so I’m not sure what happens, here.
