Two student leaders at Appalachian State University alerted police after spotting an anonymous social media post threatening a mass shooting at a campus screening of “We Will Dance Again,” a documentary about the massacre of Israeli music festival-goers on October 7.
Evelyn Annette Summers, who is in her early 20s, was arrested March 24 and charged with one felony count of communicating a threat of mass violence on educational property, according to North Carolina court records.

The professor had catalyzed debates over diversity efforts in higher education.
The University of Cambridge has abandoned plans to fully investigate its hiring of Jason Arday, the professor who became a lightning rod in the debate over diversity-and-inclusion efforts in higher education, following his abrupt death last month.
Instead, the university said, the inquiry will examine whether the school offered him sufficient support amid accusations that he plagiarized portions of his doctoral thesis and embellished his personal narrative. Dr. Arday may come up as part of a broader look at university hiring practices, but he will not be a focus.
That marks an abrupt shift from the plan announced this summer, when the school’s vice chancellor, Deborah Prentice, promised a “thorough and transparent” investigation into Dr. Arday’s appointment.

Tariffs have been relatively fine--they create deadweight loss but they haven't been Smoot-Hawley 2.0 like some predicted. Would have been better if they'd targeted countries Americans naturally sense as hostile (China) but they aren't why Rs are in this hole.

Biden's vice was government spending. Trump's vice is tariffs. Both rationalize them with a fair amount of magical thinking & Trump can definitely sink his whole presidency w/i a couple months, just as Biden did, by indulging in his vice & shushing people about their struggles.

It always blows my mind that Nirvana’s Nevermind, A Tribe Called Quest’s The Low End Theory and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Blood Sugar Sex Magik came out the same day. September 24, 1991.
