Playing Marathon is absolutely a giant betrayal to Destiny. The resources we're literally taken from Destiny to make a slop shooter to appeal to an extremely niche genre and then they decide to kill the game with more player appeal. This cash grab killed a franchise. Fuck off!

Anyone who thinks that Marathon killed D2 is delusional. Sony shut D2 down because the player numbers were too low to be profitable anymore. If Renegades had numbers similar to Final Shape, D2 would still be kickin.

I agree, playing Marathon is not a betrayal to Destiny. However, I personally am choosing to not play it. For everyone else though, if you want to try it now is the perfect time. The game is immensely fun once you get the hang of it. Good luck Runners and have fun.
