Men and women aren’t wired the same.
And that’s a GOOD thing.
Think of it like two opposite wires, but both are needed to keep the house functioning.
Here’s how it works:
He wants sex to feel connected = She wants connection before sex.
For her, emotional closeness creates the desire for physical intimacy.
For him, physical intimacy is how he feels close.
This is how long-term bonds are formed.
Now let’s see how this opposite wiring works when there are problems.
He goes quiet with problems = She starts to talk with problems.
For him, silence helps him process a solution.
For her, talking helps her process a solution.
This allows him to hear the problem from her while he starts to process a solution quietly.
This builds competency for men and respect for women, which builds trust and respect over time.
He hears a problem and thinks, How do we fix this?
She says, I need you to understand the details leading up to the problem so I can prevent it from happening again.
When he listens before fixing, it avoids future risk.
And when she learns to trust his ability to fix the problem, she earns respect.
This brings me to the glue of a relationship.
He needs to feel respected = She needs to feel chosen.
For him, respect communicates love, trust, and commitment.
For her, being chosen communicates security, love, and devotion.
Both understand what the other needs to feel secure in the relationship, and both start learning how to speak to each other to get their needs met.
This is why different wiring does not mean bad.
The wiring may be different.
The circuits may be different.
The way the electricity travels may be different.
But the purpose is the same:
To keep the house functioning as a whole.
That’s how long-term relationships work.
And that house will only need to be torn down when one wire starts to malfunction.
And a wiring only malfunctions when a man and woman start to compete instead of working together.
Don’t try to change a man.
Don’t try to change your woman.
Accept their differences and learn to work with them to keep the house functioning.
