🚨 PA Attorney General
@DaveSunday_ is in federal court defending Pennsylvania's unconstitutional law that bars citizens with minor drug offenses from obtaining a License to Carry Firearms.
Gun Owners of America and Gun Owners Foundation are suing on behalf of Mr. Philips, a Pennsylvanian denied a License to Carry because of a marijuana possession conviction from 1994. That was more than 30 YEARS ago.
Just this June, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 9-0 in U.S. v. Hemani that the government cannot disarm someone simply for using marijuana. Yet AG Sunday is still defending a Pennsylvania law that disarms people over a decades-old possession charge.
This week, his office filed its answer to our lawsuit. Rather than standing with the Constitution, it:
❌ DENIED that the law violates the Second Amendment
❌ Refused to engage with Bruen, Hemani, and the Supreme Court's history-and-tradition test, dismissing it all as "legal conclusions"
❌ Claimed GOA may not even have STANDING to fight for our members
❌ Threw in a laundry list of boilerplate defenses: immunity, statute of limitations, even "improper venue"
❌ Shrugged off Philadelphia's open-carry ban by blaming it on the legislature
Make no mistake: The right to keep and bear arms is GOD-GIVEN. It does NOT expire because of a decades-old possession charge. There is no tradition in American history of disarming peaceable citizens over something like this, and the Commonwealth knows it.
GOA does not back down. We will hold the Commonwealth to the standard of the Constitution and make them prove there is a historical tradition for this ban. They can't.

@PAAttorneyGen General Dave Sunday stands.
