Isn't Paper Mario supposed to basically be a retelling of some of Mario's adventures or no?

Everything up to Mario & Luigi Paper Jam (except sticker star) is absolutely canon Mario, anything after probably isn't due to them playing with arts & crafts as apart of the gameplay style So PM64, TTYD, and SPM are all re-tellings of actual Mario adventures

Genuine question Is tht not cherrypicking? Calling games tht contradicts the argument not canon? Cus even the recent Mario & Luigi game tells us tht they cant do wht paper mario does

Mainly because Paper Mario is a retelling of adventures that happen. Not the other way around. The paper aspects come from the fact that he’s in a storybook.

Tht dosent logically make sense when some of Paper Marios happen SPECIFICALLY cus their made of paper Plus its never said to be normal Marios past adventures Only paper marios

We literally have Paper Mario characters like King Goomba appear on 3D Mario games (DS) Nintendo doesn’t really care. Most Paper Mario stories are within books that detail their exploits. They treat the characters like Popeye, not like Dragon Ball or Naruto.
