Efforts spearheaded by Councilors @MSanchezPVD and @JustinRoias to provide warm sanctuary away from the cold for Providence's unhoused community, including opening up the Council chamber overnight, were profiled today in @thenation by @thomasbirm.
"Yet the plan to protect the city’s unhoused residents only occurred thanks to direct actions spearheaded by councilmen Roias and Sanchez, actions that stand in contrast to the wave of criminalization and callousness toward homelessness that has increasingly swept urban areas across the country."
