Israel just threatened to retaliate against Britain for objecting to new illegal settlements.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar told Israeli media this week: "If Britain acts against the State of Israel, the State of Israel will act against Britain."
Israel announced E1, 1,234 illegal housing units as part of a larger 3,401-unit project. E1 would connect Ma'ale Adumim to Jerusalem and cut the West Bank in two. No corridor, no contiguous territory, no two-state solution possible...forever.
UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband called it a threat to the two-state solution and promised sanctions within weeks. Prime Minister Andy Burnham called it a red line.
Britain isn't a hostile power, and has given Israel decades of diplomatic cover second only to that which the U.S. gave them. Israel's answer to a policy objection from an ally was a threat.
Friends that are only friends when you agree with them aren't friends. They're users.
The pattern is clear. How long until they openly turn on the U.S.?
