I would honestly probably join the GOP if the Overton window were shifted to include everyone from Dave Smith, Thomas Massie, Tom Woods, Tucker Carlson, and Nick Fuentes.
In the 20th century, the National Review Republicans and their progeny purged everyone from Murray Rothbard, the Birchers, Ayn Rand, Ron Paul, Pat Buchanan, Joseph Sobran, Peter Brimelow, Sam Francis, and so many others, in favor of technocracy at home and imperialism abroad.
That forgotten history and the neocons' takeover explain how we get people like Ted Cruz or Nikki Haley and Tucker Carlson in the same party. But if the neocons and hawks could be purged, and that Buckleyite gatekeeping could be reversed, I would be on board.
The question, though, is whether the boomers, donors, Super PACs, and party committees can be overcome in the Republican primaries. I really donβt know, and Iβm hoping to see data showing it can be done.
In the meantime, I am cautiously optimistic about a coalition third party that is being hinted at, because it might be the only option for America First and Gen Z to exert leverage.
