Maybe the reason we pray so small is because we have forgotten how BIG God is... ⤵️ Sometimes we hold back in prayer. We ask for the “safe” thing. We lower our hopes. We look at a broken situation and think, “There is no way this can change.” But God is not scared of the impossible. Saint Teresa of Ávila is often quoted as saying: → “You pay God a compliment by asking great things of Him.” Asking God for something great is not telling Him what to do. It is trusting that His power is greater than the problem in front of you. Jesus told us to ask, seek, and knock. Scripture even says, “You do not have because you do not ask” (James 4:2). Of course, prayer is not a promise that God will give us everything exactly the way we want it. Sometimes His answer is yes. Sometimes it is no. Sometimes it is, “Not yet.” But we can still come to Him like children coming to a loving Father. The saints did not pray tiny prayers because their problems were big. They prayed BIG prayers because they knew God was bigger. They prayed for conversions. For healing. For miracles. For holiness. For the grace to carry terrible suffering without losing faith. So bring God the prayer you have almost given up on. Ask boldly. Then trust Him enough to decide how He will answer. 💬 What is ONE big thing you are asking God for right now?
