Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON, has commissioned the rehabilitated and upgraded Matazu Water Supply Scheme, describing the project as a significant investment in public health, dignity and sustainable development under his administration’s Building Your Future Agenda.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, Governor Radda said the project had given a vital public asset that had served the people of Matazu since 1996 a new lease of life, enabling it to respond to the growing water needs of the local government.
He said the upgraded scheme comprises 17 boreholes, including 13 rehabilitated and four newly constructed boreholes, a 350,000-litre ground storage tank and a 150,000-litre overhead tank, as well as a solar power and inverter system designed to ensure reliable and sustainable water production and distribution.
