A day later and I am still stunned and have to reread this message - the @bcndp thinks that ‘white nationalism’ is where Jew hate has been coming from … their cowardice to even mention Jew hate coming from progressive circles is so very telling. #bcpoli
No one should feel unsafe or targeted in their communities.  A re-elected BC NDP government will continue to support the Jewish community with new funding to identify and respond to threats to keep our communities safe, and take new action to disrupt extremist activity in our province.  We stand together against antisemitism and all forms of hate and extremism. bcndp.ca/releases/bc-ndp-com…

🚨BREAKING: A British man stated on social media that he does not want to see Palestinian flags displayed all across the UK. Police officers came to his house at 4am and arrested him. Am I crazy, or has the UK officially fallen?

David Eby, campaigning for re-election, promises to take on grocery giants by capping retail profit margins on milk, eggs, cheese, butter and poultry—all products covered by supply management. That system protects farm revenues, but grocers still need to cover purchasing, transportation, refrigeration, labour and spoilage costs. Quebec already caps retail prices for certain formats of regular milk. No province currently imposes comparable retail price ceilings on eggs or poultry. The economic risk is straightforward: if a ceiling leaves retailers unable to cover their costs, they have less incentive to stock those products, potentially reducing selection and availability. Protecting prices at the farm while squeezing margins at the store does not make those costs disappear. Stupid policy...

Can't wait for the equally "chilling" documentaries about the war machines and brutality of Iran, Syria, Hamas, the Taliban or any number of regimes across the Islamic world, produced by someone in the Islamic world. And if someone somewhere did make one, somehow I doubt @AmiraElghawaby would be quite so eager to share it. That's the asymmetry of our times.

Here are two career politicians who have never built a business that had to survive on its own. Their entire adult lives have been spent inside politics - drawing salaries, climbing political ladders, and spending other people’s money - without ever running a business, making a payroll, or answering to a customer who could simply walk away.

If they bothered to ask “do you understand that in a two-state solution one of the two states is the Jewish state, and it is not a two Arab state solution, which means that in living in Gaza you are not a fifth generation ‘Palestine Refugee’ and you do not possess a fictional right to settle in the State of Israel in the name of ‘return’” I doubt they would have these numbers. In fact, if they would have more than one percent saying yes I would consider it great progress.

Through its own actions, CNN is working frightfully hard to justify Donald Trump’s controversial decision to bar it from the White House press pool. CNN’s non-story was that Jared Kushner’s investment firm, Affinity, holds a position in a public company, Phoenix, that itself has some relatively minor Israeli defense holdings. CNN's then wrote a headline implying that Kushner’s work as a diplomat in the Middle East represented a serious conflict of interest, before hiding behind a paywall the admission that it had no source or evidence that suggested anything of the sort. A serious journalism organization would quickly have discovered that Affinity’s defense exposure, through its holdings in Phoenix, is around one half of one percent of its portfolio. Kushner, meanwhile, has probably done more than anyone in the last twenty years to advance peace in the Middle East. If he continues to succeed in his objectives, it will be to the great chagrin of the defense sector. CNN cannot continue to behave like a propaganda oraganization and then cry foul when it is treated accordingly.
CNN published a deeply misleading story and headline suggesting that my diplomatic work in the Middle East somehow benefited investments in Israeli defense companies. But CNN’s own reporting says otherwise. Buried behind a paywall, it acknowledges: “CNN found no indication that Kushner’s actions as a diplomat directly affected the investments reviewed.” Phoenix is not a defense company. It is one of Israel’s largest publicly traded financial institutions, highly regulated and managing approximately $220 billion across thousands of investments. Think of Phoenix as the Israeli equivalent of Vanguard or Fidelity. It manages the retirement savings of millions of Israelis. The savers don’t choose the individual investments, and neither do I. I have no role in deciding what Phoenix buys or sells. It has performed very well for Affinity and our investors, up more than five times since our initial investment. Affinity is an SEC-registered investment firm. Our investment in Phoenix is public and dates to before President Trump was re-elected and before I returned to public service. Affinity does not own the defense companies highlighted in CNN’s story. Those facts make for a less provocative headline, but a much more accurate story. Misleading stories will not distract me from the work President Trump asked me to do: help end wars, bring people together and pursue peace. That work is too important.

I don't actually care about Palantir. I just hate the people who hate it.
Later today protesters will demand ‘No Palantir in our NHS’    While they protest, someone, somewhere will get an operation scheduled earlier, a cancer diagnosis quicker, a loved one home from hospital sooner - thanks to the software that those protesters would switch off.   Here is what you won’t hear. Trusts using the software have recorded: • 117,000 additional operations • 14.3 per cent reduction in discharge delays for long stay patients • 5.6 per cent improvement in the number of people receiving a cancer diagnosis within 28 days     As a more articulate person once said: ‘certain facts, although in a sense known to be true, are inadmissible.’
