To add on this, the question I ask is: "Portcullis defence? or Compartmentalised defence?" Me? I'm all for compartmentalising defence.
'Attackers only have to get it right once. Defenders have to get it right every time.' this is 100% nonsense! as a defender: > some things will get through > it's how we prepare, responding and recover that matters > some incidents have zero to minimal impact > near misses are a thing I do not need to be right every time! only sales dick heads who have never done the job say shit like 'Attackers only have to get it right once. Defenders have to get it right every time.' It's not how this game works! #Cyber #Reality

Cheap money never lasts. And in this case, it's about to cause an issue.
Your 2% mortgage is ending and you have to remortgage at 5%. If you can't afford the rise it's a you problem. You obviously bought a house you couldn't afford.

Starting to get peeved with this AI nonsense now. All that AI does is enable lazy fuckers to lazily execute attacks. If your defences and/or controls are compromised by lazy attacks, you've got bigger problems than Scott with a paid for version of Claude poking holes in you.

Done a supplier questionnaire on AI. 95% of my responses were: "We're not going to do anything different because our existing controls already cover this... " Without the heavily sarcastic; "Because somebody researched, studied and spoke with other security people about this."
all this talk of stuff recently just feels a bit insane: > People who think AI is alive.. > People who think the world is ending > People who think computers are magic > People who can't copy if you don't say AI is going to kill us all > People that don't understand risk management requires doing actual science (and knowing how computers work) > AI Safety LARPS > Cyber people grifting off the back of AI hype > Random people doing insanely unsafe/insecure stuff with LLMs > > > and so much more! It's a bloody mad house (LOL)

Spent 30 minutes today explaining to my boss that SSL stripping a contact form just to get a name / email is basically a shit use of computing cycles & therefore I'm placing it as a low risk. Someone please shoot me.

These outfits are insane! Nothing but the best for his tailoring business.
