We like to think we are being objective and professional, but the truth is that many of our judgments are emotional residue leaking from one meeting, conversation, or experience into the next. It was a privilege to sit down with @melrobbins and talk about why emotion skills are no longer optional. They shape how we think, decide, lead, and show up for the people around us every day. 🔗 melrobbins.com/episode/episo… #EmotionalIntelligence #DealingWithFeeling #Emotionregulation

Physical States are not Always Emotions. Do you ever confuse your physical state with how you feel in the moment? You are sitting on a plane (like I am now) or lying in bed or having your morning coffee and you notice you’re “negative’. If you're like me, you start searching for all the things going wrong in your life. Gosh, aren't we good at that? Here’s what's often happening: you’re confusing your physical state for a mental state. Why? We are over interpreting our physiology. Your physical state IS NOT your emotional state. Take home message: - Pay attention to and address your physical states (e.g., get better sleep, drink some water). - Don’t automatically assume your physical state is an emotion that needs to be addressed.

What an unforgettable experience recording with Mel Robbins. From the thoughtful preparation, to the incredible team, to the conversation itself, every moment exceeded my expectations. Mel brings a rare combination of curiosity, wisdom, warmth, and energy that makes you feel both challenged and supported. I was deeply moved by the care her team puts into every detail and humbled by the standing ovation that followed our conversation. It reminded me that behind every great podcast or production there is a group of people deeply committed to helping others learn, grow, and thrive. Thank you, Mel, and the entire team, for making this one of the most inspiring podcast experiences of my career. I left energized, grateful, and even more committed to helping people understand and manage their emotions. I can’t wait for you to hear our conversation. (And yes, I needed an apple box for my feet! :)) @melrobbins  @CeladonBooks  @Inkwellmgmt @Chartwell_Ideas  #MelRobbins #TheMelRobbinsPodcast #EmotionalIntelligence #DealingWithFeeling #PermissionToFeel.

Emotional wellbeing is not about feeling good all the time. It is about building a better relationship with what we feel, one small moment at a time. It's been wonderful to see a 100 million check-ins on How We Feel, with each of these check-ins serving as a moment of pause.

Love Viktor Frankl’s work :) The Meta-Moment technique I co-developed with @RobinSStern, and write about in Dealing with Feeling, is built for exactly this space between activation and response. We all get activated. The question is whether we let the feeling drive the reaction, or pause long enough to choose a response that serves who we want to be. That space is a skill, and it can change everything. The full conversation is on the Mighty Pursuit podcast: f.mtr.cool/ugvwtopqgs #MightyPursuit #DealingwithFeeling #MetaMoment #BestSelf

Loved reading @xxpriscillaxuxx's learnings on self-discovery, using emotions as signals.
Emotional reactions aren't flaws—they're trauma responses: freeze, flee, appease, fight. After tracking my emotions daily for 1.5 years in *How We Feel*, I discovered this powerful truth: emotions are signals, not the enemy. Here are 5 transformative shifts I noticed:

Spotted: @HowWeFeel, created by @bensilbermann and team members @Pinterest + @drmarcbrackett and @YaleEmotion, turning 25 years of emotional intelligence research into a seamless product. Most mood trackers give you 5 emojis. They built a 144-word language using vocabulary as an interface. And integrated evidence-based tools, AI reflection partner, real-time friend sharing, and geometric shapes that reflect internal states.

.@HowWeFeel, 153 days in, my favorite health tracking app. Exquisite design, intuitive, light-weight and zero dollars. The best secret app more people should find. @Apple, feature this, and get more eyes on it. Kudos to @8en, James Regan, @mudaba and the entire team. I’m still your #1 fan.

Grateful to be featured as App of the Day on the App Store. We’re also hiring a Lead iOS Engineer to help shape what’s next. If that’s you (or someone you admire), we’d love to connect. apps.apple.com/us/story/id16…
