A drought is forecast in Eswatini. The Baphalali Eswatini Red Cross Society is acting before its worst impacts are felt. Dengue cases are rising sharply across Bangladesh after heavy monsoon rains. By 14 September, 53,570 people had been hospitalised and 157 had died, placing growing pressure on health services. Following a confirmed polio case in Kenya’s Dadaab refugee camp, the @IFRC_DREF is supporting an outbreak response to help protect more than 176,000 people in Ifo 1 and Ifo 2. Over the next three months, the response will support two vaccination rounds, strengthen community surveillance, and share practical information on polio prevention and hygiene. Escalating armed attacks and communal violence across seven Local Government Areas in Kebbi State, Nigeria, have affected 16,661 people. 🦟 Dengue remains a concern in the Cook Islands, with health authorities and communities continuing efforts to reduce transmission and protect those most at risk. Together with local partners and IFRC Disaster Response Emergency Funds (@IFRC_DREF), the Cook Islands Red Cross is supporting awareness, prevention, and community action to help reduce mosquito breeding sites, strengthen preparedness, and keep communities safe.

Nine days into the response to the devastating floods in Nepal, the @NepalRedCross has significantly stepped up delivery of vital support to affected communities. Tarpaulins, blankets, hygiene kits, dignity kits, first aid supplies, emergency toilets and other essential relief items are already reaching people who need them most. The support provided through the @IFRC_DREF has helped ensure assistance could be mobilized quickly when disaster struck. The IFRC has dispatched additional humanitarian supplies to Nepal Red Cross Society to meet the massive needs resulting from the devastating floods in the country. We have also launched an Emergency Appeal to support the Nepal Red Cross in scaling up its response and recovery efforts. Thank you to all those making this response possible.

As wildfires affect communities in eastern #Algeria, solidarity is bringing people together to support those impacted. The @red_algerian is collecting essential donations, including medicines, milk, food, clothing, bedding and other supplies, to support people affected by the fires. Through the @IFRC_DREF allocation of funds on 1 August 2026 , the Algerian Red Crescent is able to provide much  needed support 8,000 people affected by the wildfires. From volunteers to local communities, people across Algeria are coming together to ensure that those affected receive the support they need.

"My 82-year-old mother was inside her home when the flood came", says Bishneu Pane. In a matter of moments, raging floods of mud and debris, swept away homes, livelihoods, and loved ones in Nuwakot, northern Nepal. Bishneu is still searching for his mother. The @NepalRedCross and @IFRC are on the ground with affected families and communities helping with relief, food, water, shelter, and much more. IFRC has released Disaster Emergency Funds (@IFRC_DREF) of CHF 999, 834 and has launched an Emergency Appeal to support Nepal Red Cross and people affected.

Severe flooding in Liberia has affected more than 76,000 people and displaced over 18,000, damaging homes, contaminating water sources and disrupting livelihoods.
