The October 7th terrorist attack was the single worst one-day massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. It included the mass murder and kidnapping of dozens of Americans, making it also one of the worst terrorist attacks against Americans in history. From that day, the U.S. interest was straightforward: to provide Israel with all the support it needed to utterly destroy Hamas. Our Israeli allies have carried out their response with indescribable bravery and have taken many losses doing so. Today, we commemorate and mourn the victims of October 7th and those who have fallen to ensure no atrocity like this can be carried out again.
