I am proud to have worked to expand Texas’s role in America’s space program, which is critical not just to America's leadership in space but to our national security and economic prosperity. Texas A&M will now train up to 420 Space Force captains a year through 2036, preparing the next generation of Space Force leaders right here in Texas.

📝NEW: Veteran sports agent and attorney Seth Levinson makes the case for the bipartisan Protect College Sports Act, and explains why its protections for student athletes matter. "The bipartisan Protect College Sports Act gives student athletes the very protections against predatory agents they might otherwise have to negotiate collectively. Many critics of the bill would sacrifice these benefits for all student-athletes simply because the solution doesn’t conform to their ideology." Read his full op-ed on the PCSA below ⬇️

Student athletes are front and center in our Protect College Sports Act. Being a collegiate athlete provides invaluable lessons and offers a path to an education. We need to protect these opportunities for all student athletes, no matter what sport they play.

College sports is at a breaking point. My bipartisan Protect College Sports Act would restore order to a system being torn apart by too few rules and too much litigation. It establishes national standards for transfers, eligibility, tampering, inducements, and revenue sharing while protecting athletes’ right to earn NIL compensation. There are hundreds of thousands of college athletes competing today. We should be fighting to protect their scholarships, their roster spots, women’s and Olympic sports, and the institution of college athletics itself. College sports is worth saving, for the athletes, for the schools, for the fans, and for America.

The mobilization is organized and funded, not spontaneous. Well-resourced socialist and communist organizations can mobilize rapidly because established networks coordinate and fund them, which is why I introduced the SPONSOR Act. Tax-exempt groups should not be able to fund proxy organizations through fiscal sponsorships and then avoid liability when those projects break the law. My bill makes the sponsors liable.

The Biden administration opened the border, so Governor Abbott and the State of Texas spent more than $11 billion doing the federal government’s job. Last year, I led the Texas delegation in demanding that DHS reimburse Texas taxpayers for those costs. Now, DHS has approved $7.5 billion for Texas. Texas taxpayers never should have had to foot this bill. We will keep fighting until they get every dollar they are owed.
Yesterday, I spoke with Homeland Security Secretary Mullin, who confirmed that Texas will receive $7.5 BILLION as part of the federal funding to reimburse our border security costs. Texas held the line when Washington would not. Now, Washington is reimbursing Texas taxpayers for those expenses. Thank you, President Trump and Secretary Mullin, for delivering for Texas.

Important discussion with Sebastien Lai. Jimmy Lai, his father, remains unjustly imprisoned by the Chinese Communist Party. He has been a powerful voice for basic freedoms and human rights. His sentence is for 20 years, which is effectively a life sentence. It is imperative that we secure Jimmy’s release, and that the United States signals our commitment to securing it. Earlier this year, I drafted and secured unanimous Senate passage of a bipartisan resolution calling for his release and the release of other political prisoners held by the CCP. President Xi will be in Washington next week. He should release Jimmy. Until that happens, I will not stop fighting for his freedom and for holding the CCP accountable for his imprisonment.

I had a productive meeting with Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi yesterday. Somaliland has already established itself as a reliable partner for the United States on a range of issues, from countering terrorism to protecting shipping around the Horn of Africa. We discussed further strengthening the U.S.-Somaliland partnership. I have been pushing the United States to deepen our partnership. I am committed to securing American recognition of Somaliland’s sovereignty and, in the meantime, I’m urging the State Department to stop treating Somaliland as the same as Somalia. The U.S. should establish a region-specific Travel Advisory specifically for Somaliland, which would reflect the reality on the ground. I look forward to continuing our work to advance our shared security interests.

I’m proud to have worked alongside my friend Senator Graham on the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia Act of 2026. President Trump signing this legislation into law sends a clear message to Vladimir Putin and those enabling his war that the United States will hold them accountable for their actions, impose serious consequences, and counter his aggression.

"It would have been simple to avoid that collision... It's evident the Black Hawk pilots never saw the plane. Never saw the plane until the instant they died." That’s why ADS-B In technology matters. It saves lives, and continuing to ignore the @NTSB recommendations means putting the lives of the flying public at risk. It’s time to pass aviation safety legislation that mandates this technology.
