Six years ago, today, I was on the South Lawn of the White House watching @POTUS and other leaders sign the Abraham Accords, which have been a major step towards peace in that region. The Accords have proven that peace is possible. I look forward to continue growing the coalition of countries working towards a strong, peaceful Middle East.

Twenty-five years later, we honor the lives lost and pray for the families that continue grieving. Today and every day we thank the first responders and those in uniform who run towards danger in order to protect and serve others. We will never forget.

After years of working with the Department of Transportation to obtain federal funding, I’m grateful  to have secured the largest transportation grant in Oklahoma history for the Roosevelt Bridge Replacement Project. This is a historic investment in Southern Oklahoma that will ensure safer, more reliable travel for school buses, truck drivers, families, and tourists that cross Lake Texoma every day.

When I was in Kyiv a few weeks ago I saw first hand the strength and bravery of the Ukrainian people. I’m grateful that President Trump’s team is engaging directly with Ukraine and Russia. That the attacks resumed as soon as our representatives left Ukraine is even more evidence that Putin cannot be trusted and does not want peace. The US and our allies must continue to stand together in support of Ukraine and do all we can to bring this war to an end.

It was great to visit with my friend Steve Myers, owner and pharmacist at Perkins Drug. I’ve recently passed bills into law to rein in middlemen pocketing an outsized cut of what we pay for prescriptions. This fight ensures local pharmacies like Perkins Drug can stay open and Oklahomans can afford the medications they need. We’ve made progress, but there’s still more work to be done.

Water will be one of the biggest challenges we face as a state in the days ahead, and meeting that challenge will require local, state, and federal partners working together toward solutions.
