12/ Mechanistically, GSTA4 detoxifies 4-HNE, a lipid peroxidation byproduct that progressively accumulates in aging RPE. Unlike generic antioxidants that just mop up ROS, GSTA4 repairs the damage.

Glad you find it relevant Michal:) 4-HNE is indeed associated with the severity and outcomes of many infections and diseases. I fully agree that GSTA4 and glutathione precursors should be investigated to mitigate these conditions. Let us know if you need help.

Yes! We need so much help! It's a huge problem and we're collecting powerful clinical samples through our MAESTRO study and we also have a mouse model of chronic Lyme disease where we leave B6 or C3H mice infected with Borrelia and the C3H are literally falling apart. Interested?
