🇮🇳 🇨🇾 GREEN ENERGY, GREEN SHIPPING AND A NEW INDIA–EU OPPORTUNITY High Commissioner Mr Manish @ManishGIfs met a delegation from Avaada Group @avaadagroup , led by Mr Prashant Choubey, President & Head, Green Hydrogen/Ammonia Business & New Initiatives, for discussions on emerging opportunities in green energy and green shipping. The interaction explored how India’s growing capabilities in renewable energy and green fuels can connect with Cyprus’ strong maritime ecosystem and strategic location at the crossroads of Europe, particularly in the context of the India–EU FTA. High Commissioner Mr Manish @ManishGIfs held a warm and engaging meeting with Swami Jyothirmayah @jyothirmayah , internationally renowned meditation expert and senior spiritual teacher of the @ArtofLiving Foundation. High Commissioner highlighted the valuable contribution of the Indian community to Cyprus and emphasised the importance of timely, accessible and humane consular assistance. Discussions focused on strengthening direct coordination between the two sides, facilitating the prompt exchange of information and ensuring effective support in cases involving Indian and Cypriot nationals, particularly during emergencies. Both sides agreed on the importance of maintaining close institutional contact to address consular matters efficiently and further reinforce the strong people-to-people partnership between 🇮🇳 and 🇨🇾.

🌿 AYURVEDA DAY 2026 CELEBRATED IN CYPRUS High Commission of India hosted a special programme to mark #AyurvedaDay, bringing together Indian and Cypriot friends in celebration of India's timeless science of life. In his address, High Commissioner Mr Manish @ManishGIfs spoke of Ayurveda's enduring relevance, its emphasis on prevention, balance, and harmony between body, mind and nature. He noted how Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani and other AYUSH systems reflect India's pluralistic health heritage, offering valuable insight to the global conversation on preventive and holistic wellbeing. He highlighted that wellbeing is not merely the absence of illness, it is a conscious way of living. As part of 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗵𝘄𝗮𝗱𝗮 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the High Commission of India partnered with 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 and 𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗗𝗼 𝗜𝘁! 𝗖𝘆𝗽𝗿𝘂𝘀, the country’s largest environmental and volunteering campaign, for a community-led clean-up initiative in Nicosia on 𝟭𝟵 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, in connection with 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗽 𝗗𝗮𝘆. 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 @ManishGIFs worked alongside volunteers during the cleaning drive and interacted warmly with children and young participants. He highlighted the importance of 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and encouraged young people to become responsible custodians of their city and the environment. More than 𝟳𝟬 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀, including students and representatives of youth organisations, civil-society groups and advocacy organisations, participated in cleaning Nicosia’s historic centre. The initiative culminated at the 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 in the Buffer Zone, near the UNFICYP Peace Memorial. Nicosia Mayor Mr. Charalambos Prountzos @Prountzos also joined the initiative. Participation in this initiative provided the High Commission with a meaningful opportunity to promote and mark 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗵𝘄𝗮𝗱𝗮, being observed by the Government of India and Indian Missions and Posts worldwide from 𝟭𝟳 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝟮 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿. Addressing the gathering, High Commissioner Mr Manish @ManishGIfs highlighted that the growing Indian diaspora in Cyprus carries both an opportunity and a responsibility: to preserve India’s cultural heritage while contributing actively to the welfare of the society it calls home. He encouraged the community to make 𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗮, or selfless service, part of everyday life. High Commissioner Mr Manish @ManishGIfs met Ms Polly Ioannou, Deputy Political Director; Mr Demetris Assos, Officer in the Diplomatic Office of the President; and Mr Georgios Georgiou, Head of the Asia and Oceania Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. High Commissioner congratulated the officials on their new appointments. The discussions included a comprehensive review of the India–Cyprus #bilateral agenda and progress across priority areas of cooperation.
