Aaron Rodgers sat at that podium in Paris and said out loud what the corporate league office spends millions trying to sanitize. The NFL talks endlessly about “player safety” and “expanding the global game.” But behind closed doors, owners scrapped player-friendly bye weeks, forced a brutal 17th regular-season game, and shipped franchises across oceans simply because there was another dollar to squeeze out of foreign TV markets. While families and players navigate locked-down streets, civil tension, and grueling travel schedules, ownership sits in five-star suites counting international expansion checks. Rodgers doesn't care about league fines anymore. He’s telling you the truth: in the modern NFL, the brand and the balance sheet come first. The humans on the field come second. x.com/ThePoniExpress/status/…

The fictional Joan, from my novel NAMASTE MART CONFIDENTIAL, published by @RunAmokCrime, was inspired Jenette Goldstein. I used to work with her son, who told me he saw a YouTube mashup when he was really young of all the times his mom got killed in movies and thought this one was her best death scene
Jenette Goldstein’s gymnastics background played a major role in making this unforgettable stunt look effortless. Her natural athleticism brought fluidity and precision to the scene, but pulling it off required careful preparation, flawless timing, and coordination from the stunt crew. During the explosive diving-board sequence, the crew reportedly used a pressure-sensitive pad to trigger the blast the instant her feet left the board. This perfectly timed practical effect created the illusion of a seamless explosion, making the moment even more thrilling on screen. The scene highlights how Hollywood combines real athletic ability with clever filmmaking techniques. What appears to be a simple stunt often requires extensive planning and teamwork behind the scenes. Sometimes, the most impressive movie moments aren’t just about massive explosions, but the incredible precision and skill that make them look effortless.

Does anyone remember when social media first came out, and it was just regular people posting pics or thoughts, no one trying to go viral, no influencers. Just vibes. What a time.

A movie about a lunatic in a bat suit doesn't adhere to strict rules of logic and reality. Weird.
The Dark Knight Rises hinges on Bruce Wayne going completely broke, yet somehow his subterranean military supercomputer and subterranean aircraft hangar stay fully operational. If Wayne Enterprises stripped his personal bank accounts and revoked his corporate access, someone at Gotham Power was still quietly funding a subterranean nuclear grid. Nolan used bankruptcy as a cheap emotional stake but refused to take away the expensive military tech because the third act required a giant flying vehicle. It stands as a massive corporate logistics plot hole where financial ruin was applied strictly when convenient for the plot.

People can't accept just how conservative David Lynch was.
How did a man this vanilla taste in movies make Blue Velvet? How do you put The Apartment on your top list and make a film that looks like Kenneth Anger's Scorpio Rising?

It's scary the way we've been cut off from reality. From the land and our history. All we know is what we see on these screens. When I enter an old church, house, saloon, or walk down the streets of a city, I feel vibes from all those who lived & interacted in those spaces.

Thank you! People need to stop reading fiction as biography! Just because they wrote it doesn't mean that it happened to them! Just because a character says something the author is not "promoting it". Fiction reveals something about the author, but not the way these takes think

This is a ridiculous critique. A writer doesn’t need to have personally lived something in order to write insightfully and honestly about it. Dostoevsky didn’t need to have experienced being a young female prostitute to write the character Sonya. Leftist take.

It, in fact, makes no sense because Amy Sherman Palladino’s idea of having children is viewed only through the lens of a child not a parent, seeing as how she never had children. Therefore, the depiction of parent-child relationships in the show are all unrealistic and always from the perspective of the child unsatisfied with the lack of appropriate coolness, freedom, progressiveness that they perceive in their parents.

For the record, THIS is "transgressive" fiction:

1. Set the movies in the 1950s and 60s, during the first Cold War. 2. Observe the social mores of the time. Do NOT "reflect" modern attitudes about anything. 3. Gorgeous locations. 4. (Classically) Beautiful women. 5. Communist villains.
My steps to fix the Bond series: 1. Smoke cigarettes again! 2. Bring back Sylvia Trench! Not for every film, but it'd be nice to bring back the device of Bond having to leave his girl to go on a new mission 3. Jeremy Irons as a villain! That is all...
