RAI-939 outperformed industry-leading aerospace material C103 by 125x. In a head-to-head torch test, Purdue Applied Research Institute confirmed that Radical AI’s RAI-939 sample exhibited superior environmental survivability to C103. C103 has been in use since the Apollo program, but its performance limitations and constrained supply have fueled a decades-long search for a replacement. Our lab discovered that replacement in just 16 weeks. Now, we aim to scale up production of the alloy to make bigger components.

This is a major milestone for advanced nuclear, American energy leadership, and the infrastructure required to power AI, industry, and national security. From empty site to criticality in nine months, the Valar team is executing at a historic pace.

Moments ago, Valar Atomics took Ward 250 critical for the first time. This fulfills President Trump’s EO 14301, which called for 3 advanced reactors to go critical by July 4th. This is our second criticality as a company, and an important step toward our goal of power by July 4.
