Actual Canadian. Patriot. Optimist plagued by cynicism.

This was the actual, official death of Canada. This was the moment we ceased to have any semblance of a country. Don Cherry was a Canadian legend, a household name, someone that every young Canadian grew up watching. He was a professional hockey player, then a coach, but most famously the main personality on Coach's Corner, where he would give commentary on hockey games, mixed in with a few of his own views. He was fired for saying that newcomers to Canada should respect our customs. He spoke brashly and with conviction, as he always did, and he used the phrase "you people" in reference to fresh immigrants, but fundamentally he was fired for trying to enforce adherence to our tradition of honouring our fallen soldiers on Remembrance Day. He suggested that "you people" need to wear poppies as a sign of assimilation, of respect, and of appreciation to the people who sacrificed their lives to build and defend our once great nation. If this man, beloved by so many and for so long, can't ask that Canadian traditions be respected, then no one can. That was the message sent by his firing and humiliation. The government and media wanted all Canadians to know that "we can't expect immigrants to do anything at all when they come here, they must be given free reign to opt out of our society, even as they come here 'for our milk and honey.'" If no one is allowed to defend our culture, then our culture ceases to exist. If we can't hold newcomers to even this most basic standard, wearing a poppy-shaped pin for one day a year, then we can never hope for "assimilation," because there is nothing for anyone to assimilate into. And this is what we have seen since then; newcomers forming their own ethnic enclaves, doing business in their own languages, hiring their own people, bringing their foods and their festivals and their customs with them, never even attempting to understand what Canada is all about. Most don't know a single thing about Canadian history aside from "White people stole the land from natives," and many don't even speak either of our official languages. Why should they? They have their own cultures and enough people to ignore ours. Don Cherry being fired signified the end of any expectation of standards being upheld, and the end of the ability for Canadians to stick up for themselves. Every day since then, multitudes of foreigners have come here, and none of them have ever thought about what it means to be "Canadian," other than to be given a piece of paper from the government. This place and its people have no meaning to them, aside from what we can give them. Unless there are serious changes, and we grow the backbone to stick up for ourselves again, soon, we Canadians will be a minority in our own home, disenfranchised and disempowered, left at the whims of the ungrateful hordes who resent us. This Remembrance Day, wear a poppy with pride, and take note of those who don't. They are not your allies.

It's real. Immigration to Canada perhaps the first actual example of people just destroying society because it was too peaceful and prosperous and they were bored.

this was something done to us almost flippantly. I went back and read the 1991 "new faces in the crowd" report about Canada and it's like: there's not really any economic benefit but it will make the country more "interesting"

Is Carney going to give a war room speech saying that the Wainwright thing was an American drone attack and that we're at war with the US? This after a week of silence, just to build suspence and so they have time to "investigate" and "confirm" their "suspicions?"

The worst part about the hundreds of thousands of dead young Russian and Ukrainian men is that retarded Africans get less free food from white people. Thank you for this powerful message, Pope Faggot
The war in tormented Ukraine continues to cause suffering far beyond its borders, especially in the poorest countries, where so many people depend on grain imports. I make a heartfelt appeal to the parties to the conflict to allow for the safe transport of grain through the Black Sea. The daily bread of millions of people cannot be held hostage by the war.

Why the hell are international students, who are not even Canadian, receiving financial aid from the provincial government? The one good argument for international students is that you can soak them for tuition fees. That makes zero sense if you're paying those tuition fees out of the public treasury.
The scale of this fraud against the people of Ontario is mind-boggling. Seven private career colleges, fake schools filled with thousands of foreign "students," received the same amount of OSAP funding through grant payments as all public colleges in Ontario combined. Real Ontario students, young Canadians, who are supposed to receive financial support to learn and study at legitimate colleges and universities, were undercut by a fraud scheme that redirected hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars back into these fake schools. It's enough to make you sick. I look forward to seeing what the police can uncover.

To all the separatists: this is an American oligarch who wants to expand American influence telling you what would be best for America. America has the same problems we do, they're just going through them a bit richer than us. Canada can be great again, but only if we're unified.
They would be better off. Alberta and Saskatchewan should separate too.

Before you comment: I'm using the language of the left but I am not a leftist. A broken clock is right twice a day, Elon is an oligarch. I am a Canadian nationalist, I believe our nation is special and well worth preserving. You don't preserve a nation by breaking it apart.

This is absolutely beyond the pail. No statesman should be talking so cavalierly about some of his own cities being wiped out. Even @MarkJCarney has the sense not to say "the Americans could nuke Edmonton or Saskatoon and that would be nbd"
TRUMP: Iran could ‘TAKE OUT’ Los Angeles, San Diego

Can we admit that Islam, alongside every other foreign religion and tribal ethnic group promote this kind of thinking, and are all incompatible with the west? Can we take that admission to its logical conclusion: exclusion?
I don't think so! I'm here to stay. As are all my brothers and sisters in Islam. We have already won. Prepare to pay the jizya!

Many in Canada have this attitude. Like crabs pulling each other down so none can escape the bucket, they seethe with hatred at the first sign of success or prosperity.
If you’re making over 190k a year. You can afford to pay a little more. Sorry, thems the brakes.

Here are 20 of the top predictions Hitler made if he lost the war: 1. Soviet domination of Eastern and Central Europe. 2. Division of Europe between American and Soviet spheres. 3. Collapse of the Western-Soviet wartime alliance. 4. A subsequent confrontation between the United States and Soviet Union. 5. Collapse of the British Empire. 6. Britain's decline from great-power status. 7. American political, military and economic predominance in Western Europe. 8. Occupation and division of Germany. 9. Expansion of Marxist influence throughout Europe. 10. Decline of Christianity and traditional religious institutions. 11. Weakening of traditional family and social structures. 12. Decline of European nations as the dominant world powers. 13. Collapse of European colonial rule. 14. Decline of Europe's share of the world's population. 15. Loss of European or "White" demographic and political predominance. 16. Increasing non-European migration into Europe. 17. Increasing racial and ethnic mixing within European populations. 18. Weakening of distinct European national identities. 19. Growth of international or supranational institutions at the expense of national sovereignty. 20. Germany's defeat ultimately weakening the European victors as well as Germany. Now, call me reckless, but I'd hazard a guess that a man who warned all of these things would happen if he lost the war wasn't exactly hoping to see them become reality.

Canada is so economically fucked that even the rich Chinese students are struggling to pay bills here.
一个加拿大人的普通工资一个月扣掉税到手就4000,你一个留学生有6000怎么就活不了?
